I think the right wingers are voting for McClintock in droves.
But I also think they are hedging there bets. Informal canvas in my company suggest that many Mclintock voters knowing there candidate will not win.. are actually voting AGAINST the Recall because they think Arnold would be worse than Davis finishing out his term.
My guess is that 15% of Mclintock voters are voting no on the recall. That acould be the difference.
If Davis pull this off He may have McClintock to thank.
Also.. Consider that the Rush to support Arnolf may actually keep many wingnuts away. THis also helps Davis sice one would assume these folks would typically be pro-recall.

there is no way he could win. Period. I cannot imagine his supporters are voting no in any significant numbers.

2. But Arnold is Pro-choice! |
|
So one would assume they would get out and vote. but there is a portion of wing nuts who also seethe hypocrisy in being pro-arnold and anti-Clinton. Those are the opnes who might just vote against the recall becasue they want to purify the GOP. and Arnold would damage that possibility.

this morning on CNN who said she voted YES on the recall and REALLY wanted to vote for McClintock but, she knew her vote would be wasted so she voted for Arnold! HUH? If Californian's use THAT kind of logic...McClintock won't win or take that many votes away from Arnold. This whole thing is just so BIZARRE!

4. I just heard a report that there is a sizable turnout of young people and |
|
that it is expected that they will go for Arnold in a big way. Very discouraging.
It is our fault though. We have turned them into media hounds.

7. We should be so lucky!!! |
|
Nahh...I think it is only 15% but That translates into maybe 3% of the the overall vote on the recall question. This, combined with the heavy turnout is Great news.

Actually the reasoning sounds good to me. I think more discouraged Republicans should vote, either directly or indirectly, for Democratic candidates.
