I wish the media would stop calling them a "PRO-TROOP" rally
or a "SUPPORT for U.S. Troops" rally, or "Support for our soldiers" rally. It's a "SUPPORT THE WAR" rally, that's what it is! I wish they would stop sugar-coating it. Better yet "SUPPORT THEIR DEATH RALLY" sounds more like it because those troops they are "supporting" are getting killed daily. People like mullet-man here doesn't seem to understand that.

Its a "support Bush's foreign policy" rally, that's all it is and that term isn't partisian. They should call it like it is.

2. I wish they'd stop saying 'pro-life'
and call it what it is, anti-choice.

In the same sense, they should be called what they are--'pro-war.' Just because we don't support the war, does not mean we do not support the troops. We are trying to support them, by bringing them home and sparing their lives--we ARE pro-troops!

4. Actually, it is a SUPPORT BUSH rally
I have a feeling you will be able to find people in this country who don't support the war but support Bush. I don't think you'll find people who support the war but don't support Bush, though.

The "support the war" crowd only thinks about supporting Bush.

8. It's the official propaganda posture.
The argument that one must support a traitor as President or an unnecessary pre-emptive war against a sovereign nation in order to support our troops is stupid. Aside from bush apologism, this terminology can serve the purpose of keeping the kids they sending to kill and die in Iraq feeling they aren't doing so in vain so that they won't hesitate on the battlefield.

9. They are right it is not free. BUT in this present war
we are spending innocent lives for lies. When my niece and nephew who are in the military go to war I want it to be for a real cause that has something to do with the security of the USA. This war is for the economic benefit of the bushie family and friends and the USA is worse off for it as is our military.

12. Of course we're "anti-troops"
One of the articles I was reading today had a quote from some woman whose daughter is in the Naval Academy. She didn't want her daughter turning on the tv and seeing a bunch of people protesting the war because that would damage her morale, blah blah blah. If the daughter truly believes in her cause, no protest should be able to deter her, IMHO.

13. One monkey's quote said they support the mission, not necessarily the war.
As if the mission wasn't somehow intertwined with war.

Makes perfect sense to me.:eyes:

14. Yes, "Death rally". You've got the right term there.
1. Death rally - supporting the death and injuries of 100s of thousands

2. Anti-America rally - cheering on the bankruptcy of america

3. Anti-troops rally - supporting the needless death and maiming of US soldiers

4. Mass murder rally

5. Anti-law rally - support the destruction of international law

6. War crimes rally - support indiscriminate murder and torture

and so on

to learn when it comes down to "labels" After all, look how long it took them to all collectively call the Hurricane victims EVACUEES instead of REFUGEES ?LOL They are a little slow:D

16. Something like a Support The Troops rally
sounds more palatable to the American public than names like: Pro-War rally, Anti-Choice Rally. They use the U.S. flag as wrapping for such hideous ideas. It's not an uncommon practice.
