Does anyone feel sorry for the Freepers after this weekend's massive
Edited on Sun Sep-25-05 11:31 PM by smartvoter
disparity between anti-war and pro-war activists? It must be humiliating to them to be so openly drowned out by the voice of America.

Anyone feel sorry for them?

I sure as hell don't...

Guys in cheap, cardboard suits and women who Supersize It too often. Reminded me of the fact that a lot of these people have been victimized so badly by the system for so long that they're punch-drunk oblivious to the fact.

Yes, I do feel sorry for them. They're pathetic, but dangerous.

better and can't help themselves. You know, like when a baby pukes or shits on itself.

12. I felt sorry for the Gold Star pro-war Moms and Dads today...
Edited on Sun Sep-25-05 11:44 PM by pamela
You could tell that the freepers didn't really give a shit about them. The only time the crowd responded with any enthusiasm was when a speaker mentioned Bush or said something negative about Cindy.

A lot of those Pro-war Gold Star Families members have been on their own bus tour lately. I think they expected a big crowd of supporters there to greet them today and ended up with that patheticly small crowd. I genuinely felt sorry for them. They were being used and I suspect a lot of them realize that tonight.

I don't feel sorry for the freepers, though. I think it's hysterical that we out numbered them about 1000 to 1. I do have to kind of tip my hat to them though because the media probably would have completely ignored the protest story today. Instead, the pro-peace side got extra publicity today because every time the media mentioned the pro-war rally they also mentioned that the crowd was really small compared to yesterdays rally.

I felt the pain of the GS families, too.
Some were truely still in great pain and anguish. It was sad. I do think they were exploited....I think they wanted to out-Gold Star Cindy. Others were politically vicious and, I suspect, unwilling to confront their own accountability for their kids actions. I wonder how many "USA-USA-USA" Freeper-type parents pushed their kids into service? The brainwashing of the true believers are a sight to behold....I'd like to see how their feelings change in the course of the next few years...

13. I must admit that I have went to freepville a few times today to
watch them spin it and jerk the strings of Gannons pants. I just laughed my butt off while they were saying they done a great job. Call me sick-but I had fun. Then I clicked them off and went and washed my hands.

19. Don't Pity a Fellow Citizen
Bring them into the light. Do not disparage or mock them. Offer them a chance to be reborn to the truth of American Democracy. They are bullies, and scared and defending what they see as deeply held beliefs. They believe what they have been told by those who would manipulate them. They believe they are defending their country and their families. Think rehabilitation. Just don't spend a lot of time on it. Remove and go after those whose corrupt perches crush freedom and Democracy in this country. Now is the time to calmly explain what we believe, and invite them to join us. There are not a lot of them, but they have been given far too much attention and deference based on appeals to lower common denominators.
