2. I'm in Love...
Edited on Mon Sep-26-05 01:31 AM by Dr_eldritch
Great post. Strong women are beautiful women.

I come from a long line of W.A.S.P.s and D.A.R.s and S.A.R.s... and only one aunt of mine was ever this courageous.

Susan.
Rest in Peace.
The others have not failed you.

Keep the post going, folks...

I have got an identical post of democratic beauties running at the ProtestWarrior's forum.

It's a hoot, to hear their replies.

11. Umm...nah.
"American woman... get away from me."
"I don't need your war machines, I don't need your ghetto scenes."

-Sorry, but I feel completely the opposite about these girls.

Bad choice.

14. American Woman IS Inappropriate
You're right... I wasn't even aware that the lyrics went that way.

How about, ''She's a Woman'' by the Beatles?

17. I understand the energy of the song, "American Woman" would be
appropriate.

It just didn't jibe with how I felt while looking at these pics.

(very enchanting)

What I guess I'm feeling for is a song with the stride and power of "American Woman" with lyrics like, oh, I don't know... Mandinka or something.

I really can't seem to find a song that would do these girls justice... but I'm sure it's out there.

24. "I am woman hear me roar in numbers to big to ignore..."
Wonderful pictures!

When I look at the younger girls and ladies, and knowing my own DD's are similar in age and moxie, I can't help but have hope if these beautiful and strong females are our future.

BTW - The one with the young lady making the peace sign as she faces the police is very powerful. It reminds me quite a bit of the picture from the Vietnam protests with the young lady putting the daisy into the business end of a gun.

29. I'm not even waiting for the pictures to come up to reply
my Mom was asked to become a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution in the 1940s. Her family heritage goes way back to the original founder of Rhode Island. Because Marion Anderson was not allowed to sing at Constitution Hall, my Mom refused.

I'm proud of my Mom. She was also making torpedoes during WWII at Alexandria, Virginia's trendy art gallery, the Torpedo Factory.

May it forever remain an art gallery.

Because my webpage got shut down for excessive bandwidth.

I'll make up a new page, tomorrow, but only post a link.

Sound good?
