Today Show this morning whoring for Bush. Lauer is sitting in Jackson
Square..site of the shrubs speech, and doing a report of how hands on the shrub was and how much better the government did with Rita. They used those shameless photo-ops of shrub.

3. "how much better?"
Am I supposed to reward the government for doing something that is their job?

4. Lauer & Couric are both HOs.
How they call themselves journalists, I'll never understand. More like snake oil salesmen. :puke:

5. I used to watch the Today Show every morning
I stopped mostly due to their obvious slant towards protecting * with factual reporting being tossed aside.

7. I also stopped due to Lauer's obvious slant towards protecting Bush
Couric fights back by saying she does not like not being in control - but ultimately no one really fights the RW pro Bush/GOP slant demanded by Jack Welsh and he minions at GE (Jack's leaving GE has changed nothing)

6. I wasn't able to get to much news this weekend so how "hands on"..
was bush according to Lauer? It is so ridiculous to take an obvious attempt by bush to rehabilitate his ratings and make it into a "hands on" job by bush. From what I have read so far he was sitting at some command post in Colorado, please fill me in on his heroic escapades that I don't know about.

8. He went to Northcom then to San Antonio, Louisiana & today some briefings
on the oil situation. All photo-ops. He looked awful by the way.

10. It's pretty amazing that the bush administration has set the...
BAR SO LOW that a few photo ops are considered hands on by the media. As usual Rove is trying to be dramatic by sending bush to Northcom. Any of what bush has done (minus the photo ops) would be just routine for any other president.

13. I don't even doubt for one nanosecond that Clinton would have had
his sleeves rolled up before Katrina hit, and set up a Gulf State White House for hands on the situation. Look at what Al Gore did as private citizen? He flew down there (and I will add with his son) and evacuated hospital patients. Bush blew it the minute he flew west for yet more photo-ops. Someone else said it, and its so true. The harder he will appear to be "werking" the more his "ineptness"* during Katrina is emphasized.

*personally I think he let the disaster in the afterwake of Katrina happen.

11. It doesn't matter
the more they praise his Rita response, the more they expose his Katrina failure. Bush et al cannot escape the facts re Katrina.
