A soldier of the 42nd Military Police Brigade was killed 50 miles (80 kilometers) southeast of Baghdad, the military said in an e-mailed statement. Two soldiers, whose unit wasn't identified, were killed in the west of the capital, another military statement said.
Today's attacks bring the death toll for U.S. military personnel, including civilian employees, in Iraq to at least 1,914 since the March 2003 invasion that ousted Saddam Hussein, according to a tally on the Pentagon Web site.
