4. Hey I'm on the phone with someone there right now...
I find this little protest kinda bizarre...

They are praying, because appearantly praying at the white house is illegal or some such as they were told.

My friends are kinda going with the flow but find the whole thing to be weird.

6. Didn't they indicate they would be engaging in acts of
civil disobedience? Sounds like that is one. Kinda puts the RR in the position of having to defend their arrest after all the caterwauling it has done to push prayer in public places. That is really really subtle.

10. being arrested for "praying" sounds smart to me
How much more hypocritical can Bushco get? Many repubs would criticize demonstrators for interrupting "business" by blocking traffic etc., but praying?? Hard to criticize that.

Can't see a think on any of the 24 hour news networks now.

11. That's what they are saying... they are marching in prayer...
I get it now... it is VERY VERY SMART... as they have no permit to do this, they are trying to attract attention.

13. AP/Yahoo news story about protestors at white house....
by ELISABETH GOODRIDGE, Associated Press Writer 24 minutes ago

WASHINGTON - Several hundred anti-war protesters marched to the White House on Monday, demanding the withdrawal of American troops from
Iraq. Protesters, including "peace mother" Cindy Sheehan, marched along the pedestrian walkway that runs for two blocks on Pennsylvania Avenue in front of the White House.

United for Peace and Justice, the umbrella group organizing the protest, said demonstrators would try to deliver a letter to
President Bush with the names of U.S. soldiers and Iraqi civilians killed in the conflict.

Organizers said some protesters also planned to lie on the walkway so they would be arrested. It was not clear whether Sheehan would be among them.

14. Thanks. Did you catch this?

I would like to say to Cindy Sheehan and her supporters don't be a group of unthinking lemmings. It's not pretty," said Mitzy Kenny of Ridgeley, W.Va., whose husband died in Iraq last year. The anti-war demonstrations "can affect the war in a really negative way. It gives the enemy hope."

Straight from the lemmings mouth.

sat down on the sidewalk after marching along the pedestrian walkway on Pennsylvania Avenue. Police warned them three times that they were breaking the law by failing to move along, then began making arrests.
