Harper's job tenuous as Canada's parliament opens fall session.
I'm watching the opening of the fall session of parliament....Stephen Harper is shooting his mouth off as usual....It's unimportant what he is saying....In my opinion....THE ONLY THING WE NEED TO KNOW ABOUT HIM (and not forget) IS THAT HE WENT ON fOX NETWORK AND APOLOGIZED ON BEHALF OF CANADIANS FOR CANADA NOT JOINING THE IRAQ ATTACK!....How DARE HE!...What right did he have as the leader of the oppostion party to speak for Canada?....We Canadians must never forget this, and no matter how they try to "improve his image", we must remember.....This is what he and the leaders of his party are about....If he had been Prime Minister, we would at this moment be embroiled in the mess in Iraq, with many dead Canadian soldiers....The Liberals aren't perfect, but they've at least kept us out of that illegal war....

1. I knew about that apology but i didn't know it was on TV
The Liberals damn well better find that clip and turn it into a commercial.

BTW, the new Harper commercials are probably the silliest political commercials I've ever seen.

2. Harper is a joke even among his own followers, he will be gone
relatively soon, imo. Watch for Peter MacKay to take over, he has been working behind the scenes to unseat Harper since he lost to him for the leadership of the new, faux, Alliance.

3. You're probably right....but my main point is that Canadians must not
forget how the leaders of the Conservative party (all of them) would have us in the Iraq war!

4. Canadians won't forget, didn't forget and that is why the faux Cons
couldn't win even with a major scandal hitting the Liberals and intense Canadian anger at the Liberals for their actions in the scandal.

The faux Cons will never win, most Canadians know they are the old, bigoted, right wing Reform under a new name.

5. Not bloody soon enough!
I have nightmares of him in that cowboy hat and leather vest....

He is a venal little brown-noser. He actually said that the reason Canada should go to war in Iraq was?

A) The Americans are our friends and we should support them
B) There were WMD's in Iraq and we need to go to war to protect ourselves
C) We need to make sure Canada takes its place on the world stage and this was a way to do it
D) It would hurt our business relationship with the US if we didn't

If you guessed D, you're absolutely correct!

That's why, more than anything, he should go. (little neo-con shill)

6. So long as Harper remains Conservative leader, the Liberals are safe.
And so long as the Liberals are limited to a minority government, the NDP will continue to have a strong say in Government policies, both domestic and foreign.

Hang on tight, Stevie! But keep sayin' stupid things!

7. The thing is we must not be tricked into thinking the goals of Harper's

party are any different, no matter who is the leader....They are still the same people who would have us in the Iraq war....The old, honourable, Progressive Conservative party has been swallowed up in this new extreme right wing incarnation and we must not allow them to trick us....When we do have an election, I hope the Liberals and/or NDP get a video of Harper on FOX News, apologizing for Canada and USE IT OVER AND OVER in their ads!
