Rawstory: Hinchey (D-NY) sees conspiracy to attack Iraq
Edited on Mon Sep-26-05 02:11 PM by babylonsister
Democratic congressman says conspiracy trial ironic; Sees Bush conspiracy to attack and occupy Iraq
RAW STORY

New York congressman Maurice Hinchey (D-NY) delivered a fiery critique of the Bush Administration's drive to war in Iraq, labeling the push part of a "conspiracy" to deceive Congress and occupy the country.

The speech, made Sept. 19 outside the District Courthouse in Binghamton, New York before the federal trial of the St. Patrick’s Four, was transcribed by RAW STORY's Jennifer Van Bergen.

Speaking of the four protesters who spilled their own blood at a military recruiting center, Hinchey said "what they were protesting was the conspiracy of the Administration of George W. Bush to bring about an attack and then an occupation of the country of Iraq, and as a result making the world a much more dangerous and difficult place than it was prior to those actions."

1. "conspiracy" to deceive Congress...
This is a good thing. Now if a Republican member of Congress would use these words...

17. Ron Paul.
And, he's not the only one.

However, try to imagine the threats being generated by those who have NOTHING other than a obsession with money, power and winning in their being. Imagine. Amoral. Imagine.

3. It's all about the conspiracy, baby.. and all of them are true...
cept they're not really aliens. They gotta throw in BS to counteract the truth. Read GHW's unauthorized biography... take the aim off of Junior and realize who's really pulling the strings. Negate the cult of personality by exposing the ugly truth:

http://www.tarpley.net/bushb.htm

Nominated, because we all need to take the conspiracies seriously and stop using their language. It's NOT tin foil (or grassy knolls before that)... it's playing into the big game. Don't fall for it!

18. We're dealing with a force worse than Hitler... the same forces that
created and financed Hitler and set him up to take the fall for them.

Bush is their current village idiot and the Neocons are being set up to be the New Nazis. Someone needs to take the fall again if and when the plan fails.

And it can only fail if it's brought into the light. They function in secrecy or they can't function at all.

4. Wow!
"It is that conspiracy," he added, "that conspiracy which has now been documented by among other things official British documents called the Downing Street Memo which are communications between the highest ranking officials of the British government – the head of the British Intelligence, the foreign officer, the prime minister himself."

He puts it all together!

16. Blindly follow? Maurice Hinchey has been my
rep for years. He has a very strong following, even among the moderate conservatives in the region because he does a great job of meeting his constituents needs. His numbers are high. I saw him on O'Reilly where he just laughed O'Reilly down. At one point Big Bad Bill told him to apologize to the American people ( Mo said Rather was set up on the Bush National guard memo), so Hinchey justlaughed and said this administration needed to apologize. One of the questions in New York politics has been why Hinchey never moved to the National level. He won't now ( he is about 62 or 3, I think). And I finally came to the conclusion that it is because he is doing what he loves to do and does damn well. He is a local guy - went to the local State University, certified as a secondary ed teacher. The guy has a track record.

14. Thank you, Hinchey. Thank you for finally calling it what it IS,...
,...a conspiracy: a conspiracy to deceive, to betray, to defraud, to exploit.

The BushCO/neoCON regime set up this whole country up for their own exploitation. They have engaged in activities which can only be characterized as "domestic enemies" to the Constitution and security of the United States of America.

This regime are traitors. They have concealed activities (the sale of arms, the exposure of CIA ops tracking WMDs, violation of due process and civil and constitutional R-I-G-H-T-S, misuse of federal funds, conspiracy to abuse their power and violate their oathes of office) which PROVE they are traitors: but, they are engaged in the most monstrous series of cover-ups, EVER IN THE HISTORY OF THE USA.

Please, get these bastards!!!!

19. This is Riveting! Stand-Up Fellow Democrat Congressional
Stand-up with Congressman Maurice Hinchey NOW!

It's about time. Now, how about all of the Dem's in the House & Senate take a stand now, before our country falls off the cliff!

"The circumstances that bring you here today are critically important to the future of our country. We are engaged as a nation now in a very tragic circumstance in the Middle East. Our country was attacked on September 11, 2001. Unfortunately and tragically, the Administration of George W. Bush twisted and manipulated and distorted information, facts and intelligence to attempt to justify an attack on a country that had absolutely nothing to do with the attack on the United States on September 11, 2001.

The Bush Administration wanted to attack Iraq not because the United States was injured but for their own private, personal and political reasons and for nothing else."

Wow. Bravo Congressman Hinchey! Now. Where are mine?

20. Congressman Hinchey Goes on to Say:
"This government, this present Administration, and the leadership in the congress of the United States would like most if not all Americans to forget about that. But we need to make sure it is not forgotten. Because if it is, that means the end of our country as it always has been and should always be in the future.

We do not want to see an end to this democratic republic. We want it to be strengthened. We want it to go on forever. We don’t want it to be ended by people who are telling us, or who would like to tell us, what we can do and say and even think. But that’s what this Administration is engaged in.

I'm calling my Senators tomorrow urging them to support this man!

the New York Center of Ethicical culture. Randi Rhodes was also there. He really is a great speaker and very passionate. He's the type of brave leader that we progressives must do more to support. We need more people like this who are unafraid to call a spade a spade. When we have more people like this in visible positions in our party our party we will become a lot more popular. Americans in both parties want the truth.
