2. Here's what I just heard |
|
Parks Service head just said on Abrams Report that all 270 (or did he say 370??) arrestees were processed and released and can mail in $50. fine for protesting without permit. Is anyone taking up a collection for our DU friends who were arrested along with Cindy?

5. Actually, it would be more of a statement to refuse to pay the $50 |
|
It's been done before and to good effect. If nothing else it draws more attention to the fact that they arrested the mother of a fallen soldier.

7. The alternative to the fine, as I understand it, is |
|
to appear at a court date in DC.
That may well be what Cindy will do, but our DUers may not have the financing to make the appearance (unless we help?).
I'm just brainstorming.
The courage of those willing to be arrested should not be twice taxed by allowing a financial burden. MeganMonkey and Joan have done good work today for many of us.

10. You are right about most DUers, etc., but I think the high profile folks |
|
like Cindy and Medea Benjamin should refuse the fine and make the appearance.
Make the media pay attention.

This act will not bode well for the * Administration. The ultimate irony, her son died for the liberties we no longer have.

is in the 'processing' they got fingerprints and DNA, which could be used for nefarious purposes at a later date.
