22. No surprise. The more incompetent, the more dishonest, the more loyal
Bush and his minions are to those orcs who serve him. They have to be that way. They certainly do not inspire service. If the house of cards is not to collapse, they must offer this quid pro quo: You do as you are told, raise money and play your part, you will be taken care of as part of the Family. You dare to tell the truth (aka Richard Clarke), it's Swift Boat time for you. (Cue the Godfather theme).

If you haven't eaten recently and aren't in any danger of puking, follow the link at the bottom to the story of Brownie testifying before "Congress" that he regrets deeply that he couldn't get Nagin and Blanco to cooperate with each other. An utter disgrace!

I want Broussard in front of that committee. He'll go all George Galloway on them.

19. Doesn't surprise me one iota
Because Mike Brown was a key player that handed Florida to Bush in the election. He gave away millions of taxpayer dollars to Floridians who had no hurricane damage whatsoever - and that certainly helped Bush's image prior to the election.

Don't you just hate it how cronyism works? I do..........

43. AP story
Brown is continuing to work at the Federal Emergency Management Agency at full pay, with his Sept. 12 resignation not taking effect for two more weeks, said Homeland Security Department spokesman Russ Knocke.

During that time, Brown will advise the department on "some of his views on his experience with Katrina," as he transitions out of his job, Knocke said.

I just read on CBS website that Michael Brown aka "Brownie" has been hired by FEMA as a consultant to determine what went wrong with FEMAs response to Hurricane Katrina. As a taxpayer and voter I find this outrageous. He was in charge of FEMA during Katrina and botched it up in front of the entire world. We have not forgotten the haunting images we saw on our televisions of our fellow Americans who were abandoned in their time of greatest need.
