Newbie DU addicts check in here please
My name is bee... and Im a DU addict.
I havent gone more than a few hours without reading this board since I found it several months ago. And even then, its only when Im AWAY from the computer, and physically unable. Now that Im (finally) politically aware... I can't bear the thought that I might ~miss something~.

Any of you other newbies (or DU veterans) in need of a support group too? It cant be: just me.. right?

3. Right on...get addicted like I did too!
Smoke a bowl, drink a beer, or just post away and be straight, gay or indifferent. Welcome to DU, it is fun just to be involved.

4. You have plenty of company bee..
Once you've found this lifeline.. this pool of sanity in an insane world, it's hard to leave.

When I first logged on it was like..."Oh, So THIS is where America went!" and I'm here for hours daily..

5. It's just you.
The rest of us lead balanced lives, organized, prioritized and just about everybody flosses after each meal. :+
Actually I relate to what you describe...to a T. At least I'm not hooked on f,f,fonics.

6. You are not alone.
Should we form a 12 step program or something? Maybe we do not want to be cured. DU helps me feel like I am not alone in the insanity. It is a great group of people who are smart and funny. It is like having eyes all over the country and beyond who watch out for us all. The members are like watch dogs and attack dogs who would do anything to rid this country of war and iniquity. On second thought, I do not want to be cured. But, I do know how you feel. My eyes get blurry some days but I don't care. I love DU people. They are better than Prozac!!

8. Here!
I'm not really a newbie, I guess. I found this place last November right after the election, but yeah, I'm addicted. I can't spend more than a day or two away from here or I'll worry. :)

12. New here too

I don't know if I feel much solidarity with most posters on here, a good percentage of the issues here aren't of much help to indian people but I try to keep an open mind and hear what is said, and to also put native issues front and center.

18. Welcome Iktomiwicasa
There are many here with their own issues, and your's is no less important. Take the lead and make it an issuue here. seemslikeadream is on top of all carribean issues and many others have their own focus. We all need more education on current native issues and you will find many sympathetic ears.

Please enjoy your stay and try to make a difference!

23. I read a post of yours the other day...
and though I didnt respond, I was/am very thankfull that you share your point of view. Ive thought a lot about your post in the time since. My mother grew up on a reservation in Arizona... and as someone with Native American heritage... I sincerely value your input and am happy to do whatever I can to help you and your tribe. Just help me figure out what I can do. You have allies here. I promise you.

9. If my boss knew how much time I spend reading DU
every weekday, I'd be fired. Or, maybe I'd get some leniency since he is a pointy-headed liberal too.

It's all good, Bee! :toast:

17. New support group: DU Anonymous
Your lights are on, but you're not home
Your mind is not your own
Your heart sweats, your body shakes
Another post is what it takes
You can't sleep, you can't eat
There's no doubt, you're in deep
Your throat is tight, you can't breathe
Another post is all you need

Whoa, you like to think that you're immune to the stuff, oh yeah
It's closer to the truth to say you can't get enough
You know you're gonna have to face it, you're addicted to DU
B-)

19. I'm happily addicted
I wonder how much time I'd log in if we were not in The Dark Ages of B*sh.... this is like a support group for me. Without it I would be even more frustrated (maybe clinically insane), if that's possible.

Thanks to you all, and DU. I learn here and enjoy all the varied points of view from so many knowledgeable people.

I'd like to make a toast to DU!

20. May I just, Welcome all DU newbies!!!
DU is my source for information and grounding because I live in a very red part of a red state. It's a great resource for info., for getting a feel for how people in other parts of the country are reacting to what is going on in the Bush** misAdministration, and as a research tool for letters to the editor, etc.

Welcome all and I hope that you enjoy it here!!!

21. It's a sickness
You will eventually peak and then crash. Just take a day or two off, have some wild sex if you can, and come back refreshed.
