Well folks after reading an editorial in our local newspaper by Morton Kondracke,probably edited by Karl Rove, then listening to Paula Zahn put down the leaders in Louisiana with the help of local reporters,it appears that the Republicans are on the march to pull George Bush out of quicksand and it appears they are succeeding.

I'm not so sure they are. I know that the marches this weekend were pretty much marginalized by the media, which is par for the course. But on the ground, not in the "lofty" heights of Rovian spin, there are so many people who are angry -- angry about the war, angry about the crappy response (or lack thereof) to Katrina, the mess that was made of the evacuation in Texas. The people who have lived through this stuff -- loosing a family member to war, losing everything to a hurricane and not etting help for days, well, they aren't going to give much of a s**t about how Rove wants to spin things, because they know the reality. So, with all due respect, I hope you are wrong.

I get so disgusted that knowing if a Democrat had been in the White House with all this incompetence taking place with Katrina, the war,the budget ...Well God help us. But it just seems that it doesnt matter what George Bush does,I mean this guy could stumble in front of a camera and and pull out a pint of Jack D. and guzzle it down, the media would cover for him and his rating would go up.

The coverage of the Bush admin in the media has changed post Katrina. Reporters are asking tougher questions and being far more agressive. That has not lessened one bit. Repubs are also turning bigtime on each other of late, spend a few minutes at freerepublic and that becomes clear. They are splitting over spending, Roberts, and other stuff like I have not seen before. Their own anger over Roberts has made me think that he may actually be pretty good as a justice. I would be far more worried if they were happy about him.

The people on the street are also far more likely to say bad things about Bush. For the first time I have had a friend who voted for him 2x saying terrible things about him. Also look at the polls numbers over the last few days. His numbers are going down down down
