2. Hear hear!
It is downright bi-polar around here depending upon the week and what is happening...

Clark is good, Clark is bad
Kerry is good, Kerry is bad
Dean is good, Dean is bad

the only thing that people around here seem to agree on is that Joementum is not good.

6. The Democratic party power-brokers...
...have an abyssmal record when it comes to chosing leaders. Does anyone think for one second that, given their druthers, they'd have picked Clinton?

There are plenty of rising stars in the Democratic party right now. (Obama comes to mind.) Do I think the leadership will do anything to support them? Hardly. They still haven't learned the lessons of 2000 and 2004. Al Frum is still rolling around the halls of Congress, selling his hoo-ha. It's going to have to be an outsider - somebody who has no association with these morons. Basically, we need another Clinton. (No, not that Clinton.)

Hillary doesn't thrill me though. :( We need someone like John Conyers, Barbara Boxer, Maxine Waters or ANY member of the black caucus. They are the ONLY (except Barbara Boxer) Dems who have the guts to stand up to the fascists in the WH.

I'm hoping for a Wes Clark/Barbara Boxer ticket, a Wes Clark/John Conyers ticket or a Wes Clark/ANY member of the black caucus ticket.

13. Not in Congress.
We need to stop running Senators for president.

11. Who do we know?
The problem with continually reinstating the same group of people is that it becomes harder for new people to step in. The incumbents in both parties in this system have sold access and have made large warchests the criteria for success in the political arena. Even on this board, I see people looking for wealthy celebrity types to rescue the party. It ain't gonna happen. Dean had the right idea of pooling small donors. Who do we know who is not a celebrity or has tons of money but a deserving message to serve as a leader? Think outside that damned Beltway paradigm. We made those people in the past and we can damned sure break them now. They can't get there without our votes and donations. Let's start with the donations and find a pool of candidates with the sensibilities of the working man and woman to put forward.
