Was Brown the source for the Enquirer story?
Atrios posted from this blog:

http://firedoglake.blogspot.com/2005_09_18_firedoglake_archive.html#112761930319897332

"And now I will leave you to guess where this bit of gossip came from, because I promised not to tell. But one of the above-mentioned folks called me this afternoon to say that according to sources within the Enquirer itself, the source for Bush's drinking story is -- an incredibly pissed-off, recently scapegoated head of a federal agency who thinks that BushCo. done him wrong.

Oh the long knives are coming out now, aren't they?"

______________

I have no way of knowing if this blogger is credible but wouldn't this be hilarious? Brown gets pissed off, tells the Enquirer that Bush is still a drunk and then gets to consult with FEMA after he was fired to find out what went wrong in NOLA.

1. Maybe that's why he got hired back.
Just saying that Bush is a drunk could be the tip of the iceberg.

14. Only seems reasonable
I thought it was very strange how he got fired really fast and then brought him back after the story. LOL, too funny though. Nothing like a little bit of revenge eh? I wonder what else he knows.

2. As much as I despise the Enquirer...
...it certainly makes Brown's re-hiring interesting. Ooh, finally I get to have a conspiracy theory:

Brown claims he'll do more damage unless they re-hire him, so they do.

This is fun.

:)

5. Brown had better have some extremely damning, hard evidence

locked away and ready for release upon his demise, because fucking with the Bush Crime Family is a long walk on a short pier. If this is true, Brown is on borrowed time...

12. I'm starting to think that the Bush family isn't competent enough
if they tried to off Brown, they would probably just screw that up too.

13. Wouldn't it be something, if the Crime Family began to ease
Edited on Tue Sep-27-05 09:19 AM by Dhalgren
away from George? This evil clan has been known to eat their young, so it wouldn't be a huge surprise if they just walked away from George. What would it be like if Babs wouldn't return Georgie's calls? Would Laura stick with George or move to Kennebunkport?

16. Yep

Especially when they find out what he did. It'll be interesting to see how long they keep him after this gets around and they find out Brown was the leaker. Now we know why the Enquire was so sure of their story.

6. Speaking of speculation....
Who would Bush do body shots with? Condi? Gannon? We should ponder this.
