Edited on Tue Sep-27-05 01:01 PM by cami715
his reply was that he had "misspoken" when he said he knew nothing of them until Thursday. He said he knew Wednesday.
To me, that makes it worse. That was another full day of inaction.

He also stated that he told Bush on SATURDAY that this was going to be a big disaster and that he needed help. Yet Bush did nothing until the following Thursday - except bike, play the guitar, eat birthday cake, party, go to a fundraiser, etc. As far as I am concerned, the buck stops with Bush.

39. They must be getting ready for a break. They are letting
Mikey drop back and blame the New Orleans' Mayor and the Governor of Louisiana has fault again. Always good to end on a lie.

The questions are getting really "softbally" and Mikey must be feeling so much better. He'll still need to make a bathroom break to change his undies first chance he gets.

C-Span has now decided to break away again. Probably just as well, nothing to see, move along. See, aren't the repugs doing an excellent job of policing their lackey? :sarcasm:

Jefferson puts up quote from Brown in 2003 - FEMA can have generators & supplies "anywhere in country" in 24 hours.

They play conference call - Jeff. Parish officials complaining STILL NO generators after 11 days. Why couldn't deliver?

Brown - Disaster, unforseeable, people stressed out, whine, whine.

69. She, or her office, sent an e-mail to Jefferson stating that at least
77% of the population were evacuated BEFORE the manditory evacuation order and that the people left were those who could NOT get out like tourists whose flights had been cancelled, those without vehicles, etc. The e-mail refutes everything that Brownie said.

Brownie's response was then to blame the Mayor, rofl, his head is spinning and the lies are coming so furious he can't remember which lie he spewed before so lies about the lie.

He was trying to "get out of the ice business"? Then why did FEMA order extra shipments of it and send it all over the country instead of where it was needed? The company that supplies it did a story on CNN the other day about how they produced MORE ice for FEMA not less.

but can you actually be prosecuted for lying to Congress? I've heard that you can't because it's not a court of law, and that any oath you take is about as worthless as this pricks resume.

Didn't see the beginning of the hearing, so I don't know if Brownie is testifying under oath. In theory, lying to Congress is a crime, whether you are under oath or not. Its just that it is considered to be a more difficult case to bring where the witness isn't sworn in.

... in particular, he said, "So, you feel that even if you're 80 years old and incapacitated, you are responsible for your own food and water, even after two or three days."

Then, with disgust on his face, Rep. Taylor said, "Thank you. I think it's a good thing you came to this hearing. The American people needed to hear your true feelings on these matters."
