1. Drownie to Rep. Shays: "You should come over and sit in this chair!"
OH NO HE DIDN'T!!!

Holy crap.

Drownie continues: "You don't know how it feels to be yanked out of somewhere you were trying to help, while the media lied about your resume."

Shays: "No, you were yanked out because you were doing a lousy job! You were clueless!!"

10. why Pelosi's move was the right move
If there were lots of Dems there, the Repugs would've been able to lay back and after the hearing the spin would be "those mean Dems" using the hearing for "partisan purposes". Instead, the Repugs are forced to attack Brownie for fear of looking like they are trying a whitewash. Meanwhile, the Dems arrange for two members with a direct interest -- Taylor of Mississippi and Jefferson of Louisiana -- to be there to express justified righteous indignation.

I think it was definitely the right move. Kills the chance for the admin and friends to spin this one.

You just know they're going to pick out Drownie's most contentious, arrogant statements for tonight's nightly network news!

Also, he's being roughed up not just by the two Dems, but by a few of the Republicans, like Rep. Shays.

Good call, Pelosi. I wasn't sure at first, but now I am.

I totally and utterly understand why Pelosi did what she did. But this is totally and utterly crazy to allow for this mostly unchallenged crap. She needs to reconsider. We can be there and respectfully ask questions, with facts. Shit 81% of the people think he's full of shit. No one will think there is political motivation by us, if we stay cool and collected and use the facts.

37. Nope. Know which battles to fight and which to let others fight.
Everything drownie is saying is on the record. Not to mention this is a prime time full time but kicking by his own party. No Dems really taking up time making it look like an all Dem frontline attack.

Pelosi played it right. Plus we'll still get our independent hearing. In the meantime Drownie looks like a grade A sleeze ball.

71. Sorry, but I couldn't disagree more. The way the committee was...
set up, there was no equal power on both sides. The Dems had nothing to gain from being on the handicapped side of a debate. She is 100% right. Stick it out and force the issue of the Independent commission.

The Republicans cannot win this investigating themselves. Everyone knows that these Republican led investigations are a farce. It will only make them look worse. I am glad they are going ahead with it.

93. Brown - "Preparedness is the key"
Not referring to FEMA, of course. People & hospitals should have PREPARED for a disaster; they should've had fuel & food for a disaster! Brown seems to think FEMA has no responsibility at all for emergency preparedness. Then when someone asks him about failures - he's all "but it was a disaster! How can a disaster agency prepare for that??"

The questions asked have been for the most part are the right ones. I just don't understand why Drownie doesn't have the the documents he needs to back up his testimony.
