How many people voted early?
I remember seeing stories about people being able to vote early.

Does anyone know approximately how many people did so?

Would it be enough to invalidate the exit polls?

2. Absentee Ballots Skew Right
I'm hearing that about two million California voters voted via absentee. Historically, absentee votes in California skew toward the right of the electorate, since most of the absentees are business people and upper middle class elderly.

I'm hearing a 65-70% turnout is expected, as big as a presidential election. They're expecting 10 million voters.

Big election. Lots at stake.

5. LA, SF Will be Late
Also, for you return-watchers out there, I can confirm that Los Angeles County (7 million residents, about 3-4 million voters) is ALWAYS late reporting. We use punch cards just like the big counties in Florida. (ugh)

Also, San Francisco, Santa Clara and Alameda counties (SF Bay Area) also have a history of voting machine problems and late reporting. If the election is close, look for this to start getting reported around 10:00 p.m. PDT.

I'm figuring some judge will look at the long lines in the polling places about 7:00 p.m., and sign an order restraining the closing of the polls. It's happened in California numerous times before.

8. I concur
Jessie Jackson interviewed on Faux already stating voter disenfranchisement...yes, it's going to get very ugly due to voting places were shut--I forget the numbers that Jackson said..

9. Not me.
In my area, the early votes were available on those nice new "touch screen" machines with no paper trail. So I waited and voted to day, with a prehistoric punch-card ballot.
