So... If I set up a Liberal Moonbats message board...
With membership being offered to liberal or progressive a Right Wingnut board consistently calls a Moonbat...

Would the rest of you Moonbats want to join?

Of course we will have HIDDEN MOONBATTERY sections so the Right Wingnuts can imagine we are plotting World Domination. And Moonbat T-shirts and buttons at cost to members. (Through my Cafe Press account.)

Let me know if there is interest!

2. Some people here actually OBJECT to the honor of being made a Moonbat!
I was talking about a place where we first-order Moonbats can make vicious fun of the Right Wingnuts.

Sort of a "secret club".

We can even have a handshake.

GREAT ASTRONOMICAL DISCOVERIES
LATELY MADE
BY SIR JOHN HERSCHEL, L.L.D. F.R.S. &c.
At the Cape of Good Hope

These articles proclaimed that, with the invention of a new telescope, astronomer Sir John Herschel had made discoveries unbelievable to science. Things like "a new theory of cometary phenomena" and multiple solar systems with subsidiary planets were all credited to the telescope.

However, the most important "discovery" that Sir John made came when he aimed his remarkable telescope towards the moon. On the moon's surface he saw the following things:

Forests, water masses, and pyramids.
Herds of bison, unicorns, and various amphibious creatures.
A primitive tribe of hut-dwelling, beaver-like creatures.
Civilized, winged-humans living in golden-roofed temples. Herschel would later call these winged-humans "Vespertilio-homo" or "man-bats".

17. neocons love barking at the moon..
But there is nothing amoral about supporting a Cokehead President who believes everyone who snorts a line, except for him, should be in prison. Nothing elitist about denying THE RIGHT TO VOTE to a lawful, hardworking, taxpaying citizen. Nothing un-American about turning 9/11 and the Iraqi War into another purposeless, endless spending spree while cutting Veterans' benefits. NO REALLY, the Department of Homeland Security was never the problem, but the solution!!!

Take from Sun Myung Moon, the moon is really a thoughtful, sinless place.

It takes my breath away, how the evil stinky ones just dis everything that is wholesome and thoughtful and beautiful. What an ugly life they must lead. Shades of Doris Lessing's "Shikasta".

I will be the fan bearer and wave away the ill winds and the overheated rhetoric.

65. No, you are thinking of "MoonMoles"....different!
How can we swoop-n-poop on freepers if we are underground?

I am hoping to head up our Elite Stealth Dive-Bomber Squadron,
if I can get enough interest.

"Minor Inconvenience From Above!"; that's my motto!

72. "Moonbats, we see in the dark places that Wingnuts fear to tread."
"Moonbat" sounds so cool, I could never take it seriously as an insulting term.

74. Hey, we're not above courting the t-shirt contingent.
I'm married to one and I'd go on TV for him. :)

80. Well...I don't want to brag...
but I am Ninkasi, the ancient Sumerian goddess of beer brewing. I will be a Moonbat, and furnish my intoxicating beverage, as long as you honor me. I will not quote the entire hymn...

The Hymn to Ninkasi - Making Beer

The Hymn to Ninkasi, inscribed on a nineteenth-century B.C. tablet, contains a recipe for Sumerian beer.)

Translation by Miguel Civil

Borne of the flowing water (...)
Tenderly cared for by the Ninhursag,
Borne of the flowing water (...)
Tenderly cared for by the Ninhursag,

Having founded your town by the sacred lake,
She finished its great walls for you,
Ninkasi, having founded your town by the sacred lake,
She finished its great walls for you

Your father is Enki, Lord Nidimmud,
Your mother is Ninti, the queen of the sacred lake,
Ninkasi, Your father is Enki, Lord Nidimmud,
Your mother is Ninti, the queen of the sacred lake.
