President Bush today praised the military directives and Fema efforts on the ground for better preparing his photo-opportunities during and in the wake of Hurrican Rita. "The Federal response to providing photo-opportunites during Katrina was obviously bungled," said the President, "We relied too much on State and local photographers when what was needed was a massive Federal expenditure to make me look good. Those same military photographers who showed me the secret pictures of Iraq's stash of secret weapons could easily have shown me sitting on the porch of Trent Lott's rebuilt house two days after the disaster which would have made the American people proud.
But we certainly improved our efforts for Rita, As I promised the American people when I went to NOCOM to work on the logistics for the coming photo-ops."The only thing I'll get in the way of is a camera lens," And I kept my word.
