Rita death toll makes dramatic jump

(9/27/05 - HOUSTON) - At least 31 people died in Harris County connected to Hurricane Rita That's according to the Harris County Medical Examiner's office, and doesn't count the traffic deaths outside the county.

The miles and miles of traffic jams, sweltering heat, and lack of water, services, fuel and help along the routes took its toll.
The greatest number of deaths reported by the Harris County Medical Examiner's office occurred before Rita ever made landfall. On Thursday, September 22, one of the heaviest days of traffic during the mass evacuation of over two million people, 11 people died. Three deaths were recorded on Wednesday and five on Friday.

After landfall, there were an additional 12 deaths -- four on Saturday, five on Sunday, and three on Monday.

I live right off I-10 in Houston and during the storm I posted a lot of people were dying on the highway but they were hiding it. They are still hiding the numbers.

Parishes that were wiped away. Media says everyone evacuated. I don't believe that. But, the bodies will be bulldozed away.

Lock Down. We have to hope that the families are relatives will eventually start to prosecute...like the 9/11 families. Joining together as citizens is the only way to get accountability. Bring it to the courts, too. Of course with John Roberts and the next Conservative Judge we have to hope the "lower courts" can setting thing before it has to come to the Supremes.

anyone have links to activity? is there a KATRITA BODY COUNT anywhere like the IRAQ BODY COUNT thingy?

they will bury this. they will make people disappear. they've been doing for generations.

there has to be someone who did Central America work who is on the "real numbers."

4. YES!!!! I have been very discouraged by the lack of interest even here

regarding this important part of the story. The Mississippi death toll was 219 on 9/13. Guess what it is today? Yep, 219. They have not identified one body in 16 days!!! Bullshit.

No one appears frustrated by the blatant media blackout regarding the body recovery and count, besides a few DU'ers here and there.

I also hope to find other resources or investigative websites attempt to answer some of these questions.

but nowhere to go w. this just yet, they only identified 30something dead in louisiana, most of the bodies are un-identified & as far as i can tell thousands must remain uncollected since only a bit over a thousand bodies have been reported recovered in the aftermath of katrina

there are huge lists of missing persons from katrina, at this point, anyone still missing is quite unlikely to be alive, i should think

32 fucking bodies identified, 32, excuse my french but that is beneath belief, considering that there were more than that in st. rita's nursing home & surely they know the fucking names of ppl who were fucking patients if nothing else, maybe the coroner can get their names off the fucking murder indictment against the owners?

i cannot believe what i see going on here, i never would have believed this -- they are even lying abt what witnesses saw in the superdome & the convention center, they are lying abt what we saw on our own teevees, now they are lying boldly abt the numbers of the dead

do they think we will sit still & nod our heads & agree that thousands, maybe tens of thousands, of missing ppl just decided all on the same day it was a great day to start a new life in alaska?

this is a big time cover-up
