a call for boycott of EXTREME MAKEOVER!!! Laura Pickles Bush will be making an appearance on the show. Let's have a Tune Out Laura Bush boycott when the episode airs. Do not watch it--just photo op come lately and really just Pickles trying to save Chimpie's politically sad ass--as his numbers keep sinking (and besides he's drinking again--is that true?). SO LET'S TUNE OUT LAURA BUSH ON EXTREME MAKEOVER--make it its lowest rated episode in history!! then you can tune in for DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES--LOVE THAT SHOW!

really watch the show either but for those who do--I urge boycott for this specific episode--it's just damage control for the politically damaged Chimperor! If Bushco and their gazillion dollar$$ cronies wanted to do something worthwhile for the citizens of the gulf coast, they would pay for each and every home built, cover everyone's losses--but of course that won't happen! Lord knows they have no hearts and no shame at that!

Malloy was talking about this last night. How the hell are they going to choose WHICH familiy is the most deserving of a new home when the entire coast is gone? THOUSANDS of families need homes. :grr: Tacky, tacky, tacky hting to do. Shame on them!

Can't boycott that which you do not watch.

BUT, we can write down the names of all the sponsors and boycott them, but better let them know.

6. I'm uneasy about this

first of all - this show is awesome, what they do for people and the caring they show - and where on earth would we (as a nation) be without shows like this - I always watch Extreme Makeover because it brings me great joy - the people that get these homes and the downtrodden through circumstances or the really good guys who take in orphaned children, etc., etc. Every show has been extremely heartwarming. I don't like the idea of a boycott - but I'm all for expressing my extreme displeasure that they would allow the show to be used by this administration - as if they cared - if they did, there wouldn't be so many needy families needing a new home. I think its best (at least that's what I'm going to do) is to write and say play don't ruin the show by allowing political hacks on for their own selfish purposes. Arnold was briefly on one show too.

8. I agree with TNOE

I've only caught a few episodes of the show, not a regular watcher, but I have been impressed the times I watched it. In essence, the producers are told about someone who is truly deserving (as an illustration, I can recall seeing a commercial for the show, and the recipient was a woman who had a mess of foster kids and was also active in her community, who lost her home due to a fire) and they basically tear down the present house and build a new one from the ground up. The ower and family are sent away on an all-expenses trip while the reconstruction happens, so the final house is a complete surprise. What I especially like is that they get the whole community involved -- not only the recipient's friends, but local businesses (who in essence get national advertising). It reminds me a lot of Amish communal barn-raisings, but on a much broader scale.
