4. I wondered the same thing...
The cousin's name is jon Ellis (I think) isn't it?

Jon was the head of the elections desk at faux news during the first selection. I read that he and chimp and jeb spent the evening yukking it up on the phone over their treachery.

8. I don't know if they're related
But, I do know he's one of the people who was indicted last year for illegal donations to the PAC he headed up for DeLay. I tried to find out if there was some link to bush* back then and had no luck.

Here's a snip from an article from then.

By APRIL CASTRO - Associated Press Writer

Tuesday, September 21, 2004

Austin, Texas — A Travis County grand jury on Tuesday indicted three people and eight corporations, including Kansas-based Westar Energy Inc., on charges related to alleged illegal donations made to a political action committee formed by House Majority Leader Tom DeLay.

James Ellis, who heads Americans for a Republican Majority, DeLay's national fund-raising committee that helped establish Texans for a Republican Majority, was charged with money laundering, a first-degree felony.

10. and some more:
Two of those indicted, James Ellis and Warren Robold, are longtime DeLay associates. Ellis is charged with one count of money laundering. The Virginia-based consultant serves as executive director of DeLay's national PAC, Americans for a Republican Majority. When the redistricting battle brought chaos to the state Legislature in 2003, Ellis actively worked with Republican leaders to ensure that DeLay obtained his congressional map. Yet it is a six-figure check that is at the root of the grand jury's first-degree felony charge against Ellis.

14. more:
Jim Ellis

"Ellis is accused of the first-degree felony of money laundering in connection with $190,000 in corporate ('soft') TRMPAC funds that were contributed to the Republican National Committee and then apparently returned to Texas legislative campaigns as individual ('hard') money donations."

-- The Austin Chronicle, October 1, 2004
Involved in a similar scheme in 1999 with the National Republican Campaign Committee, for which the Committee was fined $250,000.

12. i could not find a James....
but we all remember John from election nite 2000...who called Florida for Bush via Fox news....

<NEW YORK (AP) -- The head of Fox's projection team said he spoke five times with his cousin, George W. Bush, on election night but insists he did not give out confidential exit poll information. Bush got that information elsewhere, he said.
John Ellis, an election night consultant for Fox, was hired by Inside.com to write an account of what happened that night; it was posted on the Web site Monday. Ellis is becoming a regular columnist for the online publication's new magazine, Inside.>

However John has two brothers and a sister:

http://www.bostonphoenix.com/archive/features/99/01/28/DON_T_QUOTE_ME.html
<"If it all sounds clubby in an impossibly blue-blooded, Cabots-and-Lowells manner, well, that's the kind of life to which Ellis was born. He, his two brothers, and his sister grew up in affluent Concord. His father, Sandy Ellis, was an insurance executive in Boston. His mother, Nancy Bush Ellis, was the daughter of a senator and the sister of a future president">

17. Testimony at Texas Trial Focuses on Use of Donations (James Ellis)
http://www.nytimes.com/2005/03/03/politics/03delay.html

In the criminal case, Mr. Delay's two Washington aides - James W. Ellis, head of Mr. Delay's national political action committee, Americans for a Republican Majority, and Warren M. RoBold, a prominent fund-raiser - have pleaded not guilty.

In testimony this week on behalf of the five defeated Democratic candidates in the lawsuit, a former Republican chairman of the Federal Election Commission, Trevor Potter, said that Texans for a Republican Majority was "a highly sophisticated political operation" that had clearly violated state election laws.

Mr. Potter suggested he was especially disturbed by a September 2002 transaction in which the Texas committee donated $190,000 in corporate money to the Republican National Committee, which then quickly sent out checks totaling the same amount to several Texas candidates.

The indictment of Mr. Ellis alleges that he delivered the check to the Republican National Committee and provided it with the list of candidates who should receive the contributions. "It raises the obvious question whether this was money laundering," Mr. Potter said.

18. The D.A. And Tom DeLay (James Elllis and John Colliandro)
Edited on Wed Sep-28-05 03:44 PM by Roland99
http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2005/03/04/60minutes/main678234.shtml

Meanwhile in Texas, three of the indicted companies have agreed to cooperate with the investigation, and lawyers following the case say the prosecutor may try and “flip” the two DeLay associates indicted in the case -- offering Jim Ellis and TRMPAC Executive Director John Colliandro a deal in exchange for evidence against DeLay.

22. I can't find any family information for the cousin though, doesn't say
anywhere if he ever married, just repeat info about calling the election for W. in 2000. After my little family search, I'm amazed anyone would claim to be related to the Bush family. We're not saints in mine, but the amount of arrests and fines in that one bunch is astounding. Do people who love this family so much even know any of this? If Barbara would get a fine for impersonating the Quaker Oats guy, everyone in the family would be guilty of something. I guess since she had the litter, she doesn't have to be officially charged to be guilty.

Jon Ellis plays golf with the a-hole and they are big fans...just woundering if James (if he is indeed a bush relative) would also be in that mix. I guess he goes by *Jim Ellis* according to what I could find about the case.
