Why, oh why, are democrats conceding defeat so soon?
Thread after thread of doom. I'm watching. 5.9% of the vote has been reported. That leaves 94 % of the votes to go. The early counts are discouraging, but surely we don't have to give up before even 10% have been counted/reported???

1. They've already called the groper the winner
I would love to know how he can win with over 700,000 votes? Why is everyone IGNORING those over 2 MILLION absentee votes???? Why do people even bother to vote absentee? They don't even bother to count them.

2. just checked out real vote totals on CNN with 3% in
and many of these votes are in traditionally GOP areas and no vote totals have been given yet in Alameda or San Francisco co which are strong democratic base and only a fraction in LA and it is 50/50 there. But lots of votes have come in from GOP areas like Riverside, Orange Co, San Diego, Bakersfield, ect.

Lets wait and see--it might tighten up significantly and those 2 million as yet uncounted absentee ballots may decide this thing yet.

4. Because of sustained arial bombing.
The media shock and awe is in full force.

Every channel declaring A* the winner with 9%
of the vote counted.

The media in this state is a scandal.

We will never have a true democracy as long
as the media is controlled by the rightwing
corporate statists.

Arnolf has been shoved into place by endless
free airtime.

The only coverage of Davis and Bastamante has
been dismisive and negative.

6. Tweety and the gang were jovial beyond belief about an hour
before the polls closed. So I knew what the exit polls showed before they announced.

I don't see how they can predict the outcome though, as it's so close?

8. Well, that makes sense.
I haven't turned on the tv or radio all day. I voted at 7:00 am, went to work, got home and did some more work, and checked out the secretary of state's sight a few minutes after 8:00 to see what was going on. So I missed the media free-for-all.

And I'm glad. It's not looking good, but it's not over yet, either. Let's get some more votes counted, including the 2 mil absentee ballots. This is the first time in 12 years I haven't voted absentee. They usually call the race before my vote is counted, and their usually correct, but not always. And I don't remember ever having that many absentees to count before.
