Two levels of reaction to Delay Indictment |
|
On the "official" level of the Democratic Party, the reaction should be:
"We'll let the court decide." "Every American is presumed innocent until proven guilty."
On the blog, radio, rumor mill level the reaction should be:
HANG THE SONOFABITCH!

1. Naw. Let's don't "officially" take the high road. |
|
Let's "officially" say, "While it is up to the jury to decide Mr. Delay's guilt, certainly the grand jurors have in their indictment have exposed a remarkable amount of corruption"

2. Bah... heck with that... |
|
Hang'em, even officially. Nancy Pelosi's statement was perfect:
“The criminal indictment of Majority Leader Tom Delay is the latest example that Republicans in Congress are plagued by a culture of corruption at the expense of the American people.”
Precisely. Make this about not just Delay, but the GOP as a whole. Brand them all as the corrupt greedheads they are.

3. I am tired of the party taking the "right" road and abiding by the |
|
Constitution. Dems should be out calling for his resignation from Congress and an investigation into everyone who took money from him.

4. How about "while this doesn't rise to the level of insider trading, |
|
or revealing the identity of a CIA agent,it is nontheless a serious charge?"

the court may not find him guilty. Who knows what kind of slime he could pull.
Don't say he is innocent until proven guilty. Everybody knows he is corrupt and immoral, and now is the time to lay it on.
