but seriously, this is beyond horrendous.

the expect us to believe that
-CA voters are majority republican
-sexual assualt of women attracts women voters
-0-5% of the votes in the most diverse state in the nation are a reliable indicator
-millions of abs ballots don't/won't matter
-CA voters are less concerned with money managment ability than lame one-liners..
-immigrant voters chose the anti-immigrant immigrant over the pro-immigrant immigrant
and so on

so much is wrong here it's hard to remember it all. yet we're being told, with glee and premonition, that this is the will of the very people most hit by the bush policies, most demonized by that rhetoric, most active against his agenda during the recent campaings...

the fix is in. democracy is dead. there can be no more excuses, no more denials.

and it's not true. I'd say Cali is about 30% Republican and 30% idiot celeb-worshipping consumption junkies. California is the international capitol of style over substance, appearance before function, feel-good instead of do-right. We failed to penetrate that section of the electorate by either educating them or appealing to their needs. That's what we're seeing tonight, and that's why I don't particularly care for California.

Not that I dislike Californians. The "Boycott California" threads are quintessential examples of the childish weakness and inherent cannabalistic tendencies that KILL US EVERY TIME.

It's an apolitical phenomenon. There's no conspiracy here, it's Hanlon's Razor; Never attribute to malfeasance that which can be explained by incompetence. People need to take off their tinfoil; they just look like fools. We were outplayed in California, simple as that. The Dems split their voter pool between two candidates, neither of whom were particularly appealing. The "serial gropist" charges were leveled in a fashion which was detrimental to the Democratic effort. Basic tactical and strategic mistakes.

So let's everyone take a deep breath, quit our fucking whining, learn from our experiences, suck it up and PRESS ON.
