Sure, it's easy to say that when your home is like FRICKING THOUSANDS OF MILES AWAY FROM THE GULF COAST. A third of Sen. Mary Landrieu (D-LA) was wiped out by Katrina and damaged even more by Rita. I'm sure if Sessions, Lott, Shelby, Cochran or Vitters made these requests Hannity would be all over it like a bad pair of polyester pants

Some of the things Landrieu requested (that Hannity is calling pork)
• $748 Million for Defense reconstruction of military facilities and family housing in Louisiana.
• $160,000,000 of the Military Construction fund will be directed to the City of New Orleans to implement the proposed “Federal City” initiative
• Provides $1 billion for reconstruction and repair of damaged VA facilities and cemeteries, needed medical services, and general operating expenses.
• $500 million to reconstruct and improve the New Orleans Regional VA Hospital. .
• Suspend all co-pays for care and medications and to furnish necessary hospital care and medical services to each veteran affected by Hurricane Katrina.

4. typical Hannity distortion

It is my understanding that the request for post-Katrina funds submitted for Louisiana does go "over the top" in a number of respects, and includes duplicative, overstated, and questionably relevant items. BUT --- where Hannity is guilt of gross distortion is pinning this solely on Landrieu. The request was submitted jointly by Landrieu and Vitter -- in other words, to the extent the request has "pork" in it, its bi-partisan pork, not just Landrieu. And while I'm not sure where things stand with the House of Representatives, I suspect that a similar request is/has been made there -- and the Louisiana House delegation is overwhelmingly Repug -- I think 5 of 7.

So, Mr. Hannity, STFU!!!
