lets be serious...boycott the msm, or continue to contribute to b.s.
It has occured to me everytime I log on that there are threads upon threads about what is happening on the TV.

I am starting to realize we need to seriously buckle down and say a big fu to the media. My reasoning is due to the fact that they didn't cover the protest or the war or the corruption in government. I am putting out the call to all DUers to start the next movement in boycotts and delete these channels from your tv. Or call the satelite and cable company and request they get their ass to your house and block those channels. I firmly believe that this HAS to be done. There is no other way.

thank you for listening...now turn off the tv.

1. They are all whores...
Dan Rather can't say enough now that he is out of the firing line about the complicit nature of the media.

2. Not gonna turn off the TV
Because when we live blog it, then we put our own spin on it and don't have to take theirs.

MSM are like hookers. They have their place. Come across with the service, but I just don't want their opinion.

3. I stopped getting cable a couple years ago
I really, really miss The Daily Show, but that's it. I'm cutting corners to pay bills, but, even if I had more disposable cash, I refuse to pay for MSM garbage. I can always watch network garbage (reality TV) and get my news from the web.

4. I cancelled cable over 3 years ago.
I miss NY1, a local station, and the French news. Other than that, there's not much I miss.

5. We still need to call them on their b.s.
Through our calls and emails when they report GOP and corporate spin uncritically. As bad as it is now, imagine how much worse it would be if no one were questioning it. I guess if you really can't stomach watching it, you can just check out mediamatters regularly to get a synopsis without actually supporting it with your viewing.

6. Seems to me that the people who complain the most about the MSM
are the people who claim they don't own a TV, or they stopped getting cable years ago, because they were so disgusted. Then they sit back and complain about how everyone else should be boycotting the MSM like they are. Yet they aren't even watching, so how do they know what's on? They seem to only remember the comments that agree with their assessment, not the exceptions to the rule.

Just my opinion. As for me, what I'm seeing is a whole lot of MSM getting tough...and some of them who were always tough--and that makes up for the crap. I don't watch the crap. I stick to stuff I feel I can trust.

7. True, though I must admit I've "sworn off TV" more times than I can count
But here I sit watching CNN as I surf DU  And I think the improvement we're seeing (temporary though it may be) is due to the tireless efforts of people who watch and send those emails.
