If someone runs a blackmail operation, they only need for their clients to be closet cases with money or something else to pay-off with.

Consider: If police run a sting operation to bust the potential clients of prostitutes -- are the cops REALLY prostitutes?? Of course not. And Guckert was more likely part of a honeypot operation.

You know, I have never thought about that. Am I, perhaps, the only person who never thought that Guckert was and is involved in all of his shenanigans for blackmail? That the whole prostitution thing was just his way of attracting (closeted) gay men into his spider web? KurtNYC, you have just pulled the rug out from under me. I think that I have always (and immediately) assumed: closeted self loathing gay guy. So that any other possibility was shut out and shelved (if I ever entertained any other opinions regarding his intentions).

27. Actually I think I am one of the few who

almost immediately thought the guy was an agent of some kind. He advertised this escort service in DC and seemed to target military men.

He would sign in to the whitehouse but not sign out (possibly he left under a different identity). I think it is clear that he was well-connected and since his 'journalist' identity was a front/fraud why not his prostitute identity?

He certainly seems to have had a connection into his job as a White House "reporter". I also seem to recall that he was making allusions to having something on a Democrat, I don't remember who, and it probably was just a ruse by a drowning man. I haven't really read much about how repugs have attempted to distance themselves from him, but I am sure they must have.
