Hot Damn!!! The miracle of compound interest.
I just checked my checking account online, and I made $0.05 in interest this month! Couple that with the $0.07 I made last month, and I'll be rich before you know it!

7. Savings account interest rates are still low.

They sure went down fast enough when the FED cut rates... but they ain't going back up now.

Go figure.

People who actually keep money in the bank should go shopping. There are accounts out there earning better rates than what the big banks are giving.

8. Wow, your checking account actually pays interest?
I don't earn any interest on my checking account, but the savings account at my local bank has been paying 0.35% for about two years now. I'm starting to move most of my money to an online-based money market account that pays more than ten times that. I want to keep my assets fairly liquid since I hope to find a new job and move out of the area.

10. Put your money in series I savings bonds and earn 4.8% a year
In a few years, you'll have some more money to donate to a deserving Democrat trying to take back America.

11. In other words, your balance is dwindling.
(Since you earned less this month than last month.)

You must be one of those people contributing to the negative savings rate I read about earlier.

(Try not to spend the whole 12 cents in one place.)

12. I guess I won't complain about $14.22
I just hope I can keep the balance up there for a while.
