16. And this is supposed to make me feel better?
I believe that the policy of dumbing-down the populace has been in full swing for decades now--the better to sell us things we don't need, or that are bad for us, like Repukelikkkans.

19. your answer
well whats your solution, should we IQ test people before they vote, or should we just let a committee decide who should vote, the system may not be perfect but show me a better one.

23. Maybe we should educate people in the schools or something....
Have you been around a college lately?

The ignorance and political stupidity would boggle your mind.

7. My assessment
Repugs who vote party line, right-wingers who voted "strategically", star-struck numbskulls, the dumbest of Democrats, proud "moderates/independents" who are actually the most uninformed voters there are, and your general healthy sample of idiots...

When the numbers are crunched, I look for the margin of victory to be placed firmly on our shoulders.

most sensible take on the electorate ive seen on the boards tonight, these are our fellow americans, we may not agree with them, but calling them idiots is hardly gonna endear us to them, kinda hard to persuade someone who you have just insulted.

21. Conan the Populist
I had some observations about the "kind of person" who would vote for Schwarzenegger which I shared in a piece I wrote for DU a few weeks ago: http://www.democraticunderground.com/articles/03/09/06_conan.html

I was optimistic when I wrote that article. Optimistic that the people of California would not actually vote the idiot into office. And that was before all the allegations of sexual harassment.

I can't tell you how depressed I am right now. I don't know how to salvage any faith after this. The one candidate who was openly contemptuous of the people was the one candidate it embraced.

Somebody tell me this isn't happening.

24. People who are pro-business and liberal on moral issues.
If the Republican party moves in that direction, even if conservatives split into a 3rd party, I think that combination would dominate in America.

25. More people are actually the other way around, sorry to tell you
In the country as a whole, people are more liberal on economic issues and conservative on social issues, African Americans and Latinos are for sure.
