Only under Republican Presidents.

Bumper sticker idea:

Your War cost me $40 a tank. You make the sacrifice.

See "The Long Emergency: Surviving the End of the Oil Age, Climate Change, and Other Converging Catastrophes of the Twenty-first Century" by James Howard Kunstler, "Beyond Oil : The View from Hubbert's Peak" and "Hubbert's Peak : The Impending World Oil Shortage" both by Ken Deffeyes, and "Twilight in the Desert: The Coming Saudi Oil Shock and the World Economy" by Matthew R. Simmons.

Also check out the and the , and look at Prius sales and waiting lists, and rooftop photovoltaic cell sales.

Oil production is not going to go up forever.

2. There isn't any, in reality that is.
We get 60% of our imported oil from CANADA.

Pretty peaceful on that border.

5. Note The Lowest Prices...Hmmm...
I remember right before the 2000 elections I filled up at .95 a gallon. This wasn't 1980, 1990...this was 2000!

Makes one very nostalgic...

7. High price are good
It promote research for alternative source of energy. If gas will have been higher in the 1990-2000, our actual situation will have been way better.

Europe pay around 6$ per gallon and do fine.Don't tell me we need cheap gas because america is a bigger country, european car average mile is close to those in the US but they do have better fuel efficient cars.

8. I agree with one point
we are lucky to have gas cheaper than europe. I would buy a fuel efficient car in a heartbeat but honda hybrid is 22k off the lot. Two years ago I bought a jeep because I needed the hauling capacity for work. It cost me $40 a tank more now.

One solution, because I live in an urban area is to buy a scooter. Aside from the moped jokes, I think it is a good idea.
