Well SOME good news - two Democrats will vie for SLC Mayor.
Of course one is the incumbent, also means the last time a Republican ran the city was in the early 70s - ever since we've had a Democrat as mayor.

Anderson, the incumbent, is a Democratic Socialist, while his rival, Pignanelli is a moderate Democrat.

Tonight we had the primaries - the two Dems were running against the only Republican, Hola. I was HOPING Hola would win because that'd only make certain Anderson would win re-election in a landslide because of Salt Lake City's largly liberal population.

Anyway, here are the numbers.

SALT LAKE CITY MAYOR
ROSS C. "ROCKY" ANDERSON..... 10792 45.08%
MOLONAI T. HOLA................5813 24.28%
F. JOSEPH IRISH................83. 0.35%
FRANK R. PIGNANELLI............7205 30.10%
LAWRENCE REY TOPHAM............45 19%

1. Frank's not such a bad guy. . . .
won't be the end of the world if he wins.

And besides being a socialist, Rocky's also an atheist (he probably won't admit it now but he is...right here in the land of Zion. hee hee.)
