13 months till Canada....
I just posted this on another message board I frequent, but I think that it might be needed here. Looks like some down people tonight. Lets get back to what being a Democrat should be about. Lets fight for what we believe in and win on the issues....

Arnold just won California tonight.

If we don't take this country back in November of 2004, there may not be enough left save....

The rich are getting richer.

There are more poor and they are poorer.

The rich got tax breaks.

Three million people have lost jobs in the past three years.

The ultra-rich now don't pay taxes on stock dividends.

50 million people don't have any health insurance.

Drug companies are making record profits in the middle of a rescession.

Schools are overcrowded and underfunded.

Bush implemented a system that only funds "successful schools".

College tuition has skyrocketed.

People from other nations with college education are being brought over here on H1-B visas because they allow those people to be paid a fraction of what US citizens would require.

High skill jobs are being outsourced to nations like India, Taiwan, and China.

Corporate ceo's are getting paid millions in bonuses for laying off employees.

The milliage on our cars has gotten worse over the last few years and energy prices have skyrocketted while our infrastructure has fallen apart.

Energy companies like Enron helped write our nations energy policy.

We have committed hundreds of billions of dollars and many hundreds of our soldier's lives to overthrowing Saddam Hussein.

There were no weapons of mass destruction in Iraq.

The company the vice president used to be president of, Haliburton, has gotten tens of billions in no-compete contracts from the millitary.

The Israel/Palestine situation has simply gotten worse and worse.

The FCC wants media companies to be able to own more stations.

Clear Channel has more then 80% of the radio marketshare. Fox mogul Rupert Murdoch owns DirectTV, Fox, FoxNEWS, The Washington Post, The New York Post, is the largest single owner of newspapers worldwide, and a whole lot more. And he is very conservative.

The US now has a $480 billion dollar deficit after having a $3 trillion dollar surplus just three years ago.

The rich got tax cuts.

The rich are getting richer, but what about the rest of us?

Its time to take action. Find other sources of media with different points of view. Form your own opinions and voice them. Learn the issues. Find a cannidate and support them. Volunteer for them. If they aren't nomminated, then support who is. And volunteer for them.

Step up and fight the facism that is taking hold of our nation. We owe it to ourselves. We owe it to our parents and grandparents. We owe it to the rest of the world. We owe it to each other. We owe it to our children. We owe it to ourselves.

6. a minor observation
I'm pretty sure that Canada has immigration policies -- they don't just let in every disillusioned man or woman who drives up to their border.

10. reality strike
I know people in Canada too. Nevertheless, you can't just pick up and go there. You need a work visa, or sponsorship from a relative, or a bunch of money to invest. You can't just show up at the border with all your stuff and say "I can't stand it here any more." Seriously.

12. You can marry people....
And that will happen. I know its not the right thing to do, but it won't stop some people who want to move there from doing it.

Oh well, I've got my sights set on New Zealand anyways.....

9. Actually...............
they do. Canada turns very few people away, hence the influx of terrorists there. They're trying to tighten the laws somewhat, but they'll have a hard time of it.

11. lol
You just made that entire post up. Seriously. You can't post a single credible source to support either of those claims.

3. I like your post
I'm not sure what the title has to do with it, but I like what you're saying. My father would approve. LOL.

It is simply a time now, more than ever, to get out there and mobilize yourself and like-minded people.

It's time to work for a candidate or become one yourself if you care enough to work for change.

It will never be easy, but it's time to ask ourselves if it's worth the sacrafice and work it takes to fight for what is right and just.

Good luck brothers and sisters!

4. Excuse me but Arnold just won the fifth largest economy
in the world tonight to fuck up any way Karl Rove likes. Remember as California goes, the rest of the country goes. Welcome to Argentina, because these neocon asses will bankrupt this country if they don't get us blown up with nukes first from some pissed off jihad types.
