at the local elementary school (K-6th grade) the marines had a display set up in front of the office by the flag pole where all the kids walk out at the end of school.
they were the "youing marines" like maybe junior high age wearing camoflage outfits, lots of pictures of similar kiddies having a good time doing fun stuff, lots of flyers to hand out, and of course a butch looking mom in camos as well, blond and blue eyed in a 90% hispanic area.

No mention of what marines really do....no mention of the violation of bibical rules (thous shalt not kill, etc)...no mention of what marines REALLY do.

pathetic brainwashing approved by the local school board.

and this is in a community where shootings on the streets are not all that unusual.

maybe criminally invading and occupying a country. Maybe that part about murdering innocents (to the tune of over 100,000+80,000 military personnel), or maybe the part about getting shot at and bombs detonated under piss-poor armour for NO reason whatsoever, resulting in mutilation and death for kids who should've had nothing to do with such an unjustified action. However, part of me thinks it is the countless disgusting actions done by OUR military (including the Marines), not to mention the fact that people are forced (through force or group-think) into taking part in such horrible deeds.

Perhaps it is the effective brainwashing that occurs during training, or the degradation of a human being to the rank of lowly pawn for base aims (of imperialist neo-cons, no less).

children in to the toilet, and have an old male republican rape the
young child brutally whilst playing videos of the marine beach landing

seman floating around in their innards, are now waiting to be part of

21. The Marines have been doing this for years, folks

The Young Marines are kind of a jarhead-themed Boy Scouts that lets girls in too. It's run by the Marine Corps League, not the actual Marine Corps. (MCL is a private organization.) It's not a bad organization for kids to belong to; last I checked they don't throw you out of the Young Marines for not believing in Jeezus. (At least my brother, who keeps trying to become a YM leader, says they don't require the kids to swear an oath to Jeezus. 'Course, they won't let him mentor children because he keeps saying he's going to turn those "milk-drinking boys" into "whiskey-drinking men," and I think the number of people who want their kids to join an organization where one of the leaders wants to teach them to drink whiskey is...well, kinda low.)

Certainly they have shooting. Come on. The leadership used to be (in some cases, still is) Marines. Marines like guns. Target shooting is fun. They teach children to target shoot because it's fun. But they teach gun safety too...and they teach conflict resolution, which cuts down on the number of people who get shot.

If I had a child and had a choice of letting him join the Boy Scouts or the Young Marines, he'd be a Young Marine.
