Why did Miller go to jail?
If Libby released her more than a year ago?
Can someone please explain?

1. Because she does
not want to be asked about other related issues. However, on this alone she was facing more serious consequences -- the prosecutor was going to charge her with criminal contempt of court. That is a felony, with a potential for years incarcerated in a prison, rather than in a jail. Her attorney had hinted about two weeks ago that they were close to making a deal. The "cover story" that Libby again released her is not fully accurate. There is more to the picture than meets the eyes. We'll find out more when the indictments are handed down. But this much is sure: Judith, like Larry Franklin, is attempting to save herself.

3. I don't think there is any limit to the number of years
a person can be jailed for criminal contempt either. She could have been looking at 5-10, or 10-20, whatever the judge thought her crime warranted.
I doubt very much if it would do Bolton/Libby/Miller any good to get their stories matched up because there were a lot of different testimonies that may contradict what they have said. Fitzgerald will have to sort through and weed out the wheat from the chaff.

2. She went to jail because she lied and shilled for the Fascists.
She reported as news all the Lies advanced by the Radical Right from day one. She did not want to reveal her role in the propagandizing of America.

4. I get it now - she did not understand.
Personally, I would have tried to figure it out before being jailed.

But the discussions were at times strained, with Mr. Libby and Mr. Tate asserting that they communicated their voluntary waiver to Ms. Miller's lawyers more than year ago, according to those briefed on the case. Mr. Libby wrote to Ms. Miller in mid-September, saying that he believed her lawyers understood that his waiver was voluntary.

Others involved in the case have said that Ms. Miller did not understand that the waiver had been freely given and did not accept it until she had heard from him directly.
