108 killed in Iraq in 24 hours
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/9530709/

:sarcasm: Mission Accomplished. :sarcasm:

Would this killing stop if we completely withdrew at this point?

Or has this administration opened up a bigger can of worms than anyone could ever imagine? 108 people killed in violence in 24 hours. What a shame. I'll bet Saddam, evil as that motherF@@KER is, is laughing his ass off right now. Bush has lost control people, its only a matter of time now.

1. Iraq was a Pandora's box that evil as he was Saddam had contained
We now have opened that box and released the fury within.
There is no stopping the violence in Iraq at this point and it will only kill more Americans.

2. It did when we pulled out of Vietnam. The insurgency seems to be
the people of Iraq trying to get us out. There is a question about who is really doing the car bombs. It could be the US and England to keep the country unsettled as an excuse to stay there.

3. Interesting theory FloridaPat
I only hope that you are wrong. It's true the citizens of Iran want us out, WE are truly the invaders.

Wasn't a high ranking US guy in Iraq saying two or three months ago contendly that things in Iraq were going "exactly as planned"? I read it here on DU. And those two British soldiers were a dead giveaway. And neither the American nor the British nor the German - others I don't know - press has asked WHAT THE HELL THOSE TWO WERE DOING WITH ANTI TANK GUNS.

Also one cannot remind of Operation Gladio too often.

4. I wonder
How many innocent Iraqis have been killed as a result of those responsible for terrible acts such as these, which kill innocent civilians, being "prodded into action" by the "proactive preemptive operations group"?

From the Asian Times, in November 2002:

http://www.atimes.com/atimes/Middle_East/DK05Ak02.html

P2OG would launch secret operations aimed at "stimulating reactions" among terrorists and states possessing weapons of mass destruction, meaning it would prod terrorist cells into action, thus exposing them to "quick-response" attacks by US forces. The means by which it would do this is the far greater use of special operations forces.

Did you read that? Part of this strategy is to "stimulate reactions" among terrorists. A question now, and a very legitimate one, in light of the recent arrests of those 2 Britons in Basra, posing as Arabs, arrested for planting bombs, Just how many times has the US and Britain "stimulated reactions" among terrorists? Exactly which terrorist acts have been "stimulated" by these duplicitous actions?

5. How many were American? That's the only way people will care
And, even then, they still probably won't give a shit.

7. "The World's Mightiest Military" unable to control a "failed insurgency"?
Of course, the politicians and the generals are assuring us that everything is going going swimmingly but that they need just a few more troops.

They told us the same thing in 1967, 1968, 1969, 1970, 1971, 1972, 1973.

It's the Light at the End of the Tunnel...again.
