Will this be a wake up call for Hollywood Liberals and the DNC?
Edited on Wed Oct-08-03 02:16 AM by Dr Fate
Arnold won on sheer "star-power"- I admit that I've always kind of liked the guy as a person- until he went political on me...

When are the Hollywood Liberals we here so much about gonna put up serious dough, or help us start a network or somthing?

Will the DNC approach viable (not that hard of a standard, apparently) candidates from Hollywood?

It WORKED for the GOP- it "should" work for us, but our act is clearly not together...

...there are more Hollywood "Liberals" than GOP...

...Clooney? Sheen?

Is THIS what "the people" REALLY want? Somthing has got to give for DEMS...

1. You don't get it.
Clooney and Sheen are too liberal. They would both lose. It wasn't just Arnolds star power that got him elected. He was right on the issues: socially liberal/fiscally conservative. And he was helped substantially at the end by the LA Times smear campaign, and foolish democrats who tried to take advantage of it. It backfired.

2. When did he ever discuss issues- Why did he refuse to debate Davis?

I DO get it- Arnold did not run on the issues- he ran on star power.

And who is to say Liberal stars are "too Liberal" when we have not seen them in actual politics, with a hard platform...

I dont know if running "stars" is the way out, but I disagree with your main point...

Arnold won becuase a lot of voters just like they guy as a cultural icon, etc...

4. Arnnie never, ever shared one sentence of
any plan of action as to how he would improve California....He won by stupid people voting as if they were picking a side dish platter at the restaurant.... They never did their home work! Obviously. He only did pep-rally one lines and lazy folks too the lines serious.

Pitty.

3. Seriously- if he was "right" on the issues, then why refuse to debate?
Its because he HAD NO ISSUES, and he did not want to debate in Davis's forum.

He won on sheer star power- since when have any consevative fiscal policies ever worked anyway?

- I'm not so sure that is what swayed California voters at all...
