OUTRAGE!! Red Cross airs Bush propaganda

This morning the first commercial I heard on the radio was for/by the Red Cross - and it OUTRAGED ME -

I don't have a link to it - if you find it could you post it below?

The commercial - woman's voice (paraphrased):

In a time of disaster
Someone will come from seven states away
and put their arm around your shoulder
EVEN IF YOU LOOK DIFFERENT FROM THEM OR TALK DIFFERENTLY
they will be there to reassure you that everything will be okay
because...

...because we are the Red Cross?
...because Red Cross volunteers are miracles on earth?
...because of the generosity of the American people?

WHY?

Why will someone come from 7 states away and put their arm around your shoulder EVEN IF YOU LOOK DIFFERENT from them?

works differently in other countries. I would suspect that the organization would reflect the attitudes of the citizens of each country. I am on 'high' outrage at the moment and did not distinguish.

The American Red Cross leadership is owned, lock, stock and barrel by the bush admin, there is no question. The 'feet on the ground' workers are good people, the Red Cross administration is not.

16. Well, check out the dollars donated by the head of the US Red

Cross to the republicans, the bush campaign. Check out whether they backed up the International Red Cross when they reported on the torture/abuse going on in Iraq. I had an uneasy feeling about the White Cross when the Hurricane first hit.

Didn't see them in NO in any large numbers.

No one visible at high levels of color.

Until they sincerely change their ways - that is it.

And, because I did not say the following clearly above, I do want to say that my problem with the Red Cross is the Execs, PR, and how they do/do not fully account for sources and recipients of funds.

My problems is NOT with volunteers or with part-time or full-time employess who stay in their jobs because they sincerely want to help people.

My funds, in future, will go to local groups that provide support for grassroots emergency assistance and long-term rebuilding programs:

I know this sounds very tinfoil-hatish, but bear with me it is not.

I understand the Red Cross to have been founded by Freemasons, and the leadership has historically been masons simply because they know each other, recommend each other, and tend to stick together.

Note, I don't believe in any grand conspiracy, but I think this fraternal link (of a primarily conservative white, protestant Christian group) causes the Red Cross organization to be primarily white, conservative protestant, and Christian and to have that world mindset.

I've posted this twice, but so far the ramifications haven't sunk in. Throughout the world, the head of the Red Cross in each country is the head of state. I was told this when I attended an ARC volunteer orientation.

The head of each country doesn't appoint the top management or make policy do they? Are they actually consulted by the Red Cross?

I think the people need to know in what way the RC and the US gov are related. Is this why the RC is a veritable cheerleader for war? Whoa.

I knew it was over, or a right wing org then..

Think of all the little groups getting NO MONEY while the REd Cross fills the coffers, local groups that can help the needs of the local folks, even churches, whoever..

Plus I've paid my tax dollars, so Bush needs to stop blowing people up and drowning the poor and brown with MY MONEY.

I ain't sending a dime to the Red Cross, USE MY TAX MONEY, that's what it's there for..
