DeLay Suppoprt Rally Today at 4 in Houston. Mwahahahah.
Text of the invitation:

Tomorrow, we are gathering together at the Hess Club to show our support for Congressman Tom DeLay. We hope you'll join us for this very special get together (details below and click here for a map.)

......snip......

United for DeLay Rally
Friday, September 30
4:00 p.m.
at
The Hess Club
5430 Westheimer Road
Houston, Texas 77056
(Between Chimney Rock and Sage in the Galleria area)

* INVITE YOUR FRIENDS! *

If you have any questions, please call (281) 343-1333 or email campaign@tomdelay.com .

What are they serving? Kool-Aide? Crow? Bread and water?
The Hess Club is an upscale joint about 20 miles outside of DeLay's district. I wonder why they couldn't draw a crowd at home? I guess he'll be playing his games on the road from now on.

We outnumbered his attendees by about 3 to 1 and only ONE counter-protester showed up!

6. The Rudolph Hess Club:
Hess, Rudolf

Deputy to the Fuhrer and Nazi Party Leader

Hess was "the engineer tending to the Party machinery." He maintained the organization as a ready and loyal instrument of power. He signed decrees persecuting Jews and was a willing participant in aggression against Austria, Czechoslavakia, and Poland.

Hess suffered from paranoid delusions, apathy, amnesia, and was diagnosed as having a "hysterical personality."

Hess was sentenced to life in prison. He remained--lost in his own mental fog-- in Spandau prison (for many years as its only prisoner) until he committed suicide in 1987 at age 93.

39. The bugman?

Powers: Bug Man uses a battlesuit made of nearly impenetrable metal that can assume the shape of several types of bugs. In its' bee, butterfly and dragonfly forms it can fly, and as a dragonfly shoot bolts of electricity from its' tail. In its' spider form it can shoot metal webs. In its' caterpillar form it shoots poisonous gas and can curl into a ring that rolls at high speeds. He also employs a number of remote-controlled mechanized insects, including giant wasps and carpenter ants.

History: (Doom Patrol vol. 1 #99)-After years of researching insects, an unnamed scientist theorized that if he could duplicate their powers in mechanical form he could easily rule the world. Fashioning a battlesuit, the Bug Man made his first course of action to destroy the Doom Patrol so that he would have no opposition in taking over Midway City. He attacked them once by himself, and a second time with an army of mechanized insects. He managed to captureElasti-Girl and place her in a deathtrap inside his Ant Hill Fortress. She escaped, and her teammates managed to defeat Bug Man and obliterate his robotic creations as well as his Fortress. Bug Man was sent to jail and has not been heard from since.

22. Interesting, The Hess Club Is On My Way Home From DTown Houston...
...but I don't have time today to screw with it today.

DeLay has to raise a lot of legal defense money, which will not be a problem for him. Also DeLay cannot get a fair trial in Travis County (Austin) so if this situation goes to trial, his very good "junk-yard" attorney will file for change of venue to Harris County (Houston).

This is why DeLay as already started working the Houston market with these 'lil get togethers.

GOPA

PS: Here is a map of DeLay's District. As quoted in the press many times in error, DeLay's District is not Harris County (Houston) but Fort Bend and Galveston County:

He can get a fair trial in Travis County. You know not what you speak.
However, *some* aren't interested in a fair trial, they are interested in a stacked jury. Hopefully, that won't happen.

30. No, Hot Tub Tom Cannot Get a Fair Trial in Austin....
Edited on Fri Sep-30-05 03:18 PM by GOPAgainstGW
I mean you and I know he can, and I would NEVER defend "Hot Tub" Tom DeLay, but to get the facts on the table, this GJ that indicted DeLay is in Travis County (Austin, Texas) and was 3/4 made up of Democrats.

Further, Austin liberals and Dem politicians totally hate DeLay for being behind the redistricting of Austin into 3 districts. The local newspaper, Austin American-Statesman, is extremely biased against DeLay, and has been for years - to the point, at times, they lose credibility.

This is all good for us, but DeLay has an excellent Texas attorney. If this goes to trial, DeLay's Attorney, Dick DeGuerin, I'm sure will file for change of venue out of Austin, because DeLay cannot get a fair trial their due to the local press, and the DA's mouth being way too open in public, about this matter the last two years. DeGuerin will tap dance all over the Judge on these issues and DeGuerin, while a total scumbag like DeLay, is an excellent criminal attorney, - one of the best in Texas.

PS:
>>>He can get a fair trial in Travis County.
>>>You know not what you speak.

I and my "money group" here in Houston have spent 3 years and received over $1/4 million in donations trying to drag down DeLay and other key members of the Papa Bush Family Texas Mafia.

You or anyone else here at DU doing this?

32. Well to tell you the truth
DeGuerin is as big of a scumbag as the clients he represents--not this idealic wonderful attorney that you keep touting, ie Delay, David Koresh, et al. And yes, you did defend Delay yesterday--the post is now history, as it should be.
I'm offended that you include "me" in your "us".
That's not happening. Rules prevent me from calling someone out, so I won't.
He can get a fair trial in Austin and for you to ASS-ume that he can't...pretty much says all that needs to be said.
Because as far as the state of Texas is concerned...he can't get a fair trial in a county full of rubber stampers either. He made his fucking bed and now he needs to lie in it.

People like you sit around and sling lies and then get pissed when someone calls you on it.
This board is DEMOCRATIC Underground, and yes, I will fight to get Delay out of there--not hero worship his attorney and whine about Delay not being able to get a fair trial in Austin. Those sound too similar to RW talking points to me.
And as far as labels...there is a difference in a liberal Republican and a conservative Democrat IF they vote their party...which I assume to be the case here.
Thank God you won't answer my post...and btw...Get a Life?? Ha fucking Ha. Is that the best you can do?
