3. Lincoln Chaffee is in charge of writing the Senate's version of the bill. |

He does not like many of the House's details in their bill. As it is, the House bill is doomed in the Senate. Once Chaffee writes his version of the bill (and if it passes the Senate) then something might be cobbled together in a conference committee. That compromise would then have to be passed by both the House and Senate. Lots of complicated work lies ahead.

Even if the Senate can kill or fix Pombo's abomination I expect Roberts to rule the entire ESA invalid or somesuch. :cry:
