Constituents roll call...Who serves you?
and your assessment of their job of serving you.

Maryland..My Congressman is Wayne Gilchrest..Repuglican. Mostly a zero. Bu$h toadie and party line guy. I give high marks for environment however. Never answers my email.

Senators Mikulski and Sarbanes. Don't hear much from them lately.
Both voted no on Roberts. Both are up in years. Sarbanes retiring after this term. So so performance.

32. Yeah, I heard an item on the radio one morning and then
saw the same in a local paper sometime early in the week. There was kind of an ominous note that the family was requesting privacy for him. Did not say anything beyond that he had a mass removed from his abdomen. To me, that doesn't sound good. But I could be wrong.

5. Looking forward to Ben Cardin...
beating Lt. Gov. Steele up there in Maryland to keep that seat Democratic!

As for me, my congressman is Clay Shaw, a stinking Republican -- which is totally inexplicable, as his district is the beachside of Broward County (Fort Lauderdale, Pompano Beach, etc.), which is very Democratic.

Senators are Bill Nelson and Mel Martinez. Mel enjoys one of the lowest approval ratings for any senator in his home state. Hoping he gets ousted after only one term. As for Bill, he'll probably be running against Katherine Harris in 2006.

7. Colorado
Wayne Allard (R) - Awful.

Ken Salazar (D) - So far, I'm extremely unimpressed. I think he's playing Mr. Centrist to keep a Presidential run in his future (First Hispanic man...). I consider that a betrayal to the base. Colorado is red, but the places that are blue are very blue. He's still a million times better than Pete Coors, whom he beat. Yes, THAT Pete Coors, polluter and maker of shitty beer.

Congressman - Joel Hefley (R) - Awful.

never received a letter from FrankenFrist - they're never about what I've contacted him about and always arrogant and snotty in tone. I didn't know that Wolfe is planning to run again, I knew about the indie, and I understand that someone who is a bonified Democrat will announce that he's running for Wamp's seat soon. (Crossing fingers)!! Kurita told me recently that she doesn't even know what the DSM is and I'm hunting all of the links that I had to send to her along with the link for the roundtable interview that you weren't too thrilled with. She needs to know these things and what's ticking people off! We have quite a few candidates for county council positions, judgeships, etc. Lots of work to be done and lots of funds to raise. We need some good outcomes in these elections!!!

 Sen. Saxby Chambliss (R-GA)
 Sen. Johnny Isakson (R-GA)
:( :( Rep. John Barrow (D-GA)

John was formerly my most liberal county commissioner and a personal friend of mine. He's the Harvard Law graduate son of a famous Athens judge, and the scion of a very old Georgia family. I know John well. He is super smart and very articulate.

Unfortunately, he's now a running scared Democratic Representative who has done such unthinkable things as vote for the Schiavo bill.

Ugh. :( I know why he's voting that way. Immediately after his defeat of Republican Max Burns (a one term Republican who won in a district that had just been redrawn by the Democrats) the new Republican majority in Georgia redrew the goddamn districts AGAIN.

Now, John will no longer live in his current district. He'll have to run in a conservative, mostly white district extending north of Athens instead of in the current district that includes college towns, blue cities and large minority populations.
:grr:

I am an unhappy Democrat. :(

Senator Hilary Clinton: Celebrity Dem but leaning further and further rightward all the time. I'm not thrilled, but I'll probably end up voting for her in the 2006 Senate race.

Congressman Charles Rangel, Democrat: I like him, he has spoken out against the Iraq mess and he has also proposed a bill to reinstate the draft without the loopholes. It would never pass as written because it's compulsory service for all men and women regardless, but it was a noble effort and got the conversation started at least.

51. Illinois
Cong. Dan Lipinski: Dem, but in reality a DINO. He literally inherited this seat from his father, William Lipinski aka Bungalow Bill, who had been the 3rd Cong. District representative since 1982.

Danny Boy is a total zero. He voted for the Schiavo bill, bankruptcy bill, against stem cell research even though he is an insulin dependent diabetic and is very pro-war. About the only thing he sides with the real Democrats on is Social Security. I'm hoping that someone decides to run against this POS in next year's primary, but it isn't looking too good. He's got the backing of the Cook County Regular Democratic organizations, so the chances of someone taking him on are pretty slim.

As for the Senate, what can I say. Illinois has to be very proud of both of them. I would literally walk on nails for both Dick Durbin and Barack Obama. The Land of Lincoln is lucky to have them both.

60. CA 23 - pretty damn good
Congresswoman Lois Capps (D) - Nicest lady ever, good liberal with some fiscal moderate leanings. Great lady, I'll vote for her as long as she runs.

Sen. Boxer - I'm always in her corner.

Sen. Feinstein - has been much better lately.
