BENNETT: Well, I don't think it is either, I don't think it is either, because first of all, there is just too much that you don't know. But I do know that it's true that if you wanted to reduce crime, you could -- if that were your sole purpose, you could abort every black baby in this country, and your crime rate would go down. That would be an impossible, ridiculous, and morally reprehensible thing to do, but your crime rate would go down. So these far-out, these far-reaching, extensive extrapolations are, I think, tricky.

54. Getting away with Racism
The best way conservatives/racists get away with it, is by saying they are fighting the PC, "liberal" media. Thats how they are spreading their racist conservative agenda.

Check out the following remarks of freepers/typical conservatives/racists and how they harass a black republican guy just for protesting against those highly offensive/genocide endorsing remarks.

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1494774/posts

If there were freepers in 1940s, they'd've chastized jews for protesting against nazi atrocities.

Afterall Nazism is not dead, it just rewrote itself as neo-conservatism.

"If they would abort all white babies born in the next five years, then blacks would have a greater chance of entering the college of their choice" (or other such divisive rhetoric)?
Republicans would be clamoring for his head. But - SO WOULD 80% of Democrats!!
That's the difference. Freepers will lay down and die for a Neocon no matter what disgusting things they say or do.

50. The question is bogus...
The use of the word 'reprehensible' is why I think it is. That 35% may not see it as reprehensible, but still view the remarks as bad.

It's a matter of degrees for a lot of people and some, while may believe the remarks were bad, may believe people are making too big of a deal out of it.

I asked my grandmother about this today and she thought what Bennett said was awful, but she also thought people were making too big of a deal out of it.

I think they could've done a better job on the question.

You know all Clinton did was accept a BJ..and of course, he likes bananas! I am convinced that there is NOTHING that Bushit & Co could do that the 35% base would not support. 2 years ago when I was petitioning; I asked a thug if he was not outraged by Bushit traveling all the way to Iraq in the cloak of darkness to share a plastic turkey and a photo op....He said NO...."It was Symbolic"???
Maybe this is WHY they don't want to educate dems...

59. I don't think its being "freeped"
I think a good third of Americans are so lost in the cult of Limbaugh and Bush as to be in need of the equivalent of de-Nazification.

They are so lost in the right wing fantasy that they're probably no longer competent to manage their own affairs, must less the rest of ours.

These are the storm troopers of Newt Gingrich's "bloodless civil war".

The fact that they exists in the tens of millions frightens the living hell out of me.

What are we going to do with these people? How do we live among them? Can we ever have a civil society again as long as they pollute our civic life?
