Here's an interesting question that might need some investigation...
How many in the RW cabal do you suppose bought Halliburton stock in 2002 during the run-up to war? HAL at the time, consequently, was at a 10 yr low. By now those "lucky" individuals have made somewhere around a cool 600% profit and climbing.

Amazing what billion$ in no-bid contracts will do for your stock valuation.

It would be very interesting to see what familiar names happened to buy at that time, owned and/or still owns, stock in HAL who just happened to be also pro-war shilling for BushCo...Limpballs? Insannity? Judith Miller? Ankarlo? Glen Beck? The who stinking lot of them? Not to mention congressmen, members of the * administration and countless other politicos.

Money is a powerful motivator to sell your soul.

3. That would be an interesting compilation of names.........
wouldn't it? What did they buy and when did they buy it? Unfortunately we'll never know what's in those people's stock portfolios.

4. Parallel Charts Would Be Better
We need to know what high profile repugs--and others--were buying not just Halliburton, but all of the publically traded well-known govt. contract stocks, including Shaw Group, Carlyle Group, Bechtel, etc. i also wonder if there is public info. about stock bought for "blind trusts" in large blocks, if ya get my drift.
This would make an excellent Misery Profiteers Watch index.

6. This is the same thing as insider trading...
large government contractors where those in the congress (and well as much of the politicos in Washington for that matter) are in the know as far as who's going to get what and when. The fact that all these companies received very large long term no-bid contracts makes the whole thing even more of a sure thing.

Surely there are laws on the books dictating how certain government employees can buy/sell/trade certain stock, but it's also the extended family of the RW cabal who are supposedly "independent" of the government that I wonder about as well (aka payola).
