So what does the end of a quarter have to do with giving campaign money?

I see on Kos, and I just got a Kerry email about, giving money to the campaign of your choice. It is the end of the quarter, they say, tonight being the deadline. Kerry has 4 candidates on his site and a way to donate to them, and Kos made comment about certain candidates that we could donate to in key races.

But why is the end of a quarter so important? What's up with that?

1. they report every quarter and like to have the biggest numbers

they can get so it looks good. the Dems are doing a great job contributing, we're ahead of the Repubs so far....

Here's Kerry's email. Maybe folks will want to contribute to his four candidates. Or not. Maybe they'll want to contribute to my candidate (www.bryankennedyforcongress.org). Or not. Maybe they should contribute to somebody for 2006, though.
