Suppose THE ROCK is next for the Republicans.

I wonder if this is what Rome looked like in the 1st. Century. Which state will THE ROCK become governor of?

1. Nah... probably Bo Derek
The Rock is still cashing in. He's still got a few movies with decent box office left in him. He won't run until his movies bomb.

Bo Derek, on the other hand, is pretty much careerless.

3. Dwayne Feels the GOP Love
Edited on Wed Oct-08-03 05:20 AM by BareKnuckledLiberal
The Rock (his name is Dwayne Johnson, I believe) is another "Hollywood libbrul" behated by the purist GOP. He is another party-splitter, and for that, I'm glad.

By the time he's ready to run for anything, he may well have jumped on the liberal/Democratic bandwagon (if he has not jumped the skark). Just look at all the "stars" who jumped on the conservative bandwagon -- Bo Derek (pro-choice, another RINO), James Woods (once he stops ranting about 9-11, he'll probably hide his face in shame), Dennis Miller (a mean whore nearing the end of his shelf-life), Kelsey Grammar (pro-gay-rights, a major RINO), Bruce Willis (pro-Labor, pro-gay, another tough-guy RINO), Shannen Doherty (she likes her guns and her smokes, but she's not pure by any means) ... the only high-profile Republican Conservative purists seem to be Patricia Heaton, Pat "John Birch" Sajac, Fred (Law and Order: GOP) Thompson, and the faithful-departed Salvatore "Sonny" (a.k.a. "OT 8") Bono and Nancy Kulp.

And yes, I admit I may have missed a few.

Republican stars are not our enemies. They split the party, "rend it in twain", vex the religious wing much more than the Liberatians ever did, and dilute the Rectal Right mojo, one and all. Let us therefore rejoice and fatten the calves for the inevitable day that the Prodigals come home.

4. I doubt the Rock would
Edited on Wed Oct-08-03 05:42 AM by La_Serpiente
I really really doubt the Rock would. I have a good hunch that the Rock is a firm Democrat. He's actually Samoan. He was born here in Hawaii, and Hawaii is a democratic state. He's a really caring guy.

Even though the Rock did the opening at the Republican convention in 2000, he did it for show and pay. He actually showed up volutarily for the Democratic Convention in 2000 (I saw him on TV). Plus, the WWF president, ( i forgot his name) is a Democrat and so are people like China and the Rock.

6. Jean-Claude Van Damme for U.S. Senate
Why not? His career's in the toilet, he's almost as much of a womanizer and Arnold's "win" should be encouraging for him.

7. The Rock? Initially DU laughed at the prospect of Arnie-baby.
Unfortunately the first rule of politics is there are no rules.
