Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha
I love this forum because it clearly shows the NEUROSIS of us so called Dems... Hey face it, CA has a wacky system that allows a couple of rich guy's to put together a recall towards a recently elected public official.... And face it folks...with the star power of a goof like ARNIE most moron americans who haven't a clue about politics are going to vote for him. The thing that gripes me the most is that I thought CA was a little more politically educated than say..Minnesota. But I was wrong. They're just as dumb as the rest of us!

Look...There ain't no doubt in my mind that there will be a recall movement towards Arnie. And then there will be a recall movement for whoever takes Arnies place and so on and so fourth... Hence making the election process of the United States one big fucking mess. Throw the BBV probs and redistricting in the mix and well.... The Times are a changin!

So is it OK to be NEUROTIC... I think so!

1. I was also very surprised that
CA actually went ahead and voted for Ahh-nold, I really thought that, in the end, most of the voters would be more intelligent than that. My deepest sympathies to you CA DUers, this has to be especially hard for you to swallow. I used to wish I lived in CA, but now I'm glad I don't, because I don't think I could take Governor Ahh-nold for even five seconds!

2. Remember Governors Reagan & Wilson
CA has a history of electing "moderate" Repbulicans for governor. I guess we all thought this time it wouldn't happen and we were wrong.

3. Yeah. Minnesotans are a bunch of uneducated louts.
That's why they persist in electing people like Humphrey and Wellstone, have a historically strong social infrastructure, and have kids who beat the Japanese and Europeans on educational measures.

Well, yeah, there was Jesse and then that Coleman thing, but nobody's perfect.

6. There Shouldn't be any recall against Arnie!
Edited on Wed Oct-08-03 09:13 AM by djg21
The recall was supported by close to 55% of CA's voters. Arnie won 48% of the vote on Question 2, as compared to Bustamante's 32%.

Let's face it -- CA's people have spoken, and they wanted Davis out and Arnie in. Seek another recall now, in a state that is suffering "recall fatigue," and the swing voters and demcratic crossover voters will be further alienated by our party. This would be an utter disaster. Moreover, no legitimate candidate will risk ruining a political career by participating in a second recall or by running against Arnie. No one wants to be seen by the voting public as vindictive!

It would have been one thing if the recall vote had been a squeaker, and Arnie had one by a small margin on question 2. THAT DIDN'T HAPPEN.

Granted, there may be a retaliatory recall, but hopefully, cooler heads will prevail.

The fact is that our leadership should have asked Davis to resign as the recall gained momentum in early September. Instead, our party became schizophrenic.
