A very proud San Franciscan here....
I checked out the California electorial voter map and am pleased as punch to say that I live in the county that had the highest votes against the recall.

80% of San Francisco County said "no" the recall. :)

THIS is why I love my town, and THIS is why I will stay here forever.

Looking at the map, the usual suspects were at work here -- conservative, monied, southern areas and the sparsely populated central state areas where Rush is King.

It's tough to be a Californian to day, but damn fine to be a San Franciscan.

8. All of you in California have my sincere sympathy.
I survived Kennedy, Johnson, Nixon, Ford, Carter, Reagan, BushI, Clinton, and I'm survivng Bush II. Arnold is just another bad smell pssing through your state. You will survive.

You survived Wilson. Arnie will just be Wilson, redux, as Arnie hasn't a clue how to do the job the booboisie elected him to do. My guess is that Wilson will be pulling his strings.

The problems that sank Davis won't go away. They'll get worse, since the lawsuit against the Enron gougers may go away with just a token settlement.

My guess is that this particular bad smell won't last too long.

My county, the same one that voted for Gore by 75% went to Ah-nuld/Yes recall by around 59%.

I'm very depressed right now.
:(

4. Interesting stats...the entire SF Bay Area
voted against the recall. I'm beginning to think this is all about media coverage. The LA stations promoted Arnold even more than the SF stations. :eyes:

I'm proud to live here, also.

7. And yet the LA Times was being bashed
last night because LA was a one paper town.... LA TIMES.... and a "liberal paper" at that. This of course being reported by what according to the latest gallup pole says a "liberal" media.

To the conseratives I say... if it is so fu**ing liberal then don't watch it.

I personally think it is so fu**ing conservative that I haven't watched broadcast news national or local (except an occasional PBS) for the last 3 years.

6. As an added bonus, housing prices should drop under Arnold
You live in a great area! And as The Bush Regime, AKA "Arnold," destroys the California economy and environment and social services and ..., at least housing prices might come back to earth.

9. I saw that earlier
80% of San Franciscans get it! There were a few other areas that were above 60% against the recall and L.A. was against by a small margin. It mirrors the red state - blue state split of the 2000 Presidential election. If I ever move to California then it will definitely be the San Francisco area!

I wonder what retaliation the Simon/Rove people have planned for you guys?
