Here's something unbelievable
In a poll taken yesterday out in California, 64% of the people polled said that Arnold did not convey his goals or message adiquately, yet they still voted for him. Californians, and I'm sure this goes for the rest of the country, are complete, uniformed, dolts. THIS is why Shrub is in the White House, THIS is why he has enjoyed, until recently, such wide approval ratings. WAKE UP PEOPLE!!!!!!!

4. When asked why they voted for him
they stated that it was because of his personal qualities. What makes a great bodybuilder, dedication, drive, determination, etc.. they said those qualities mean he'll be a great governor. What idiot. What will make him a great gov. is when Bush hands him a fistfull of dollars to get the state rolling again.

7. Where is Bush* going to get a fist ful of dollars?
Deficit soaring with no end in sight. I doubt that money can be found for California.

2. And the candidates need to wake up too....
The candidates need to figure out how to reach the people - how to make a vote for them compelling. It's hard work, but absolutely necessary!

10. Hey Piece Sine
seeing as how you blocked any reply to your reply on my post, I have to reply here. I'm only stating facts. If you said the candidate didn't convey his message or goals and still voted for him, you would be, in my book anyway, a dolt. What Americans need to do is pull their collective heads out of their asses and start getting informed. They drive around in their $50,000 SUVs, debt up to their eye balls, one paycheck away from being totally backrupt, 401k's worth sh!t, and as long as you feed them a $400 tax rebate each year they don't ask any questions and just keep voting for the a-hole in office handing out the checks.

3. bottom line exposed
"Californians, and I'm sure this goes for the rest of the country, are complete, uniformed, dolts." This is EXACTLY the attitude that makes the Democratic Party losses so predictable in 2002 and now 2003. Keep living in a Purple Haze and it will happen again in 2004.

It's time DUers to view the country in a less elitist and snotty manner. We are our own worst enemy when remarks like yours are made public here.

9. Dig it out, man...
... the media made this idiot governor. Go after them. The Democrats _are_ dolts because they're listening to and watching the mainstream news that _wants_ people like Ahnold fucking Schwarzenegger in office.

He can pump all he wants, but this is bigger than Ahnold can ever be.

Cheers.

14. How else do you explain it, piece sine?
We can't entirely excuse the voters of California who picked Arnold by saying they were manipulated and brainwashed by the media. That's part of the issue, to be certain, but every one of those idiots who voted for this guy could have taken the time to examine the issues, examine his platform, and do a little independent research, rather than just mindlessly letting the TV do their thinking for them.

The consensus even among his supporters is that they have no clue about his qualifications to be governor. Schwarzenegger hasn't a clue either, but he won yesterday anyhow. We've been shown once again that the majority of people in this country are just too fucking stupid to handle democracy in an appropriate fashion, and instead of trying to use reason or intellect when selecting a candidate will just go for the celebrity, the "nice guy," or the dude you'd like to have a beer with.

We figured after the stolen election of 2000 that the next time the Repubs were up for an election they'd get trounced. Then 2002 came and the voters showed us they still haven't woken up to the fact every time the GOP seizes power they trash the economy and start wars.

We figured after 2002 and the Iraq debacle, the unemployment, the lies and the bullshit would convince the people the GOP has no ability to lead or solve problems. And now California's recall shows us the people simply will not learn from the past.

If the Democratic Party doesn't take into account the fact the majority of the voters can't think and don't give a shit about anything but their own wallet, and learn to somehow work that into their strategy, Bush will win re-election next year. The media will obediently report that "the economy is booming!" in October, 2004 or perhaps they'll blow up some unidentifiable body and say it's Osama Bin Laden. And the sheep out there who will lap up anything handed to them will eagerly race out to vote for Bush, leaving those of us who still possess the ability to utilize critical thinking skills once again screwed by the decisions of the mindless majority.

6. Not The People
its the damn Medias Fault..

..
they give very little air time to the real issues here..its like a fairy tale for Bush.....

how often do we hear anti bush on shows? Very little and when we do the host always cuts them off and lets the right wing nut keep going on and on....

Its even getting like that on C-Span....some hosts cut the Democrat callers off and let the Republican callers ramble on and on....

I know its how we get our news .....but what else can WE do to get our message out?

12. I somewhat agree and I'm depressed,
YET AGAIN! And I'm wondering if WE aren't the ones living in 'never never land' It just seems that WE are foreigners in our own land. WE are the bad ones, the wrong ones, etc. portrayed by what seems to be the MAJORITY these days. THAT IS DEPRESSING AS HELL!

I want to say to hell with it and hide in a cave somewhere till I die, but then a vision of the minority of Africans enslaved fighting for their freedoms and their underground railroad for freedom springs to mind.

In times like these, those who are for humanity go underground and use the cover of night to offer the rare fountains of hope admist the shambles and disgrace of the tumultuous and insane times we sometimes find ourselves locked within.

We need a key to unlock the door that is daily being laiden with yet more deadbolts, locks and chains.

I'm saddened beyond belief and horrified that this nation would ever elect someone such as ahhhhnuld. Maybe we deserve what we are getting if, as a country, we are no more mature than electing someone such as this to a public office.

Maybe WE are the ones who are deceived into believing that there is hope and that WE can make a difference and that people here want what is good, honest, decent and right for all living things.

11. Works both ways...
...I might remind people that "celebrity status" is a major factor in why New York has the junior US senator that it currently does. Granted she has much more experience in law and politics than Thrud the Barbarian does, but it was her noteriety that put her in a position to run over everyone else.

Arnold won, but CA's problems won't just go away according to script.
He's been handed enough rope to self-terminate. Let's see that he uses it.

This country is being molested and assaulted, so I guess it will be nothing new.

follow directions. Sit Down Shut Up and turn on FOX TV because any media that has a intellectual content greater than 4th grade is too confusing..:dunce:
