Is Schwarzenegger more of a Democrat or a Republican...?
Is he more liberal on more issues than Gray Davis? Or is he simply just a political puppet that will need guidance from his Repub masters? He did get almost 20% of the Democratic votes and approximately 70% of the Independents. It is not hard to imagine that the shiny new Repub will be tarnished considerably by this time next year, barring some economic miracle...

1. I heard a commentator joke that Arnold gets asked that question
30 times a day, and thats just from Maria.

He really doesn't fit the Republican mold, which must be why he won?

3. Schwarzenegger will do what he's told. He has NO IDEA of how..
to do anything else. Jessie Ventura is a Policy Wonk compared to Arnold. He was picked by Republicans for his name and BECAUSE he can be easily led.

4. Pete Wilson is his main political advisor. Draw your own conclusions.
In the one "debate" he participated in, he made precisely ONE political point: that Workers' Compensation programs have become a "burden" to California companies, so they must be slashed.

Get it now? Anti-worker, Pro-business. Hates taxes; demagogues about "tax and spend" liberals.

Does that sound more Republican or Democratic to you?

5. He is slime.
I guess that makes him more Republican. His social "views" are irrelevant and once Enron gets its 9 billion dollars saved he may become completely irrelevant - as Cali falls apart the Repugs can label him "liberal" and disown him as easlly as they took him in.

Worse case - they really do groom him to become President. Or is there another naturalized citizen of 20 years hiding in the Bush?

6. Does it matter? ~ He is not in charge
Remember it's the people behind the curtain that pull the strings. Ah-nold is like Bush* only a face. He has no real power.
